… security threats don’t feel close until your windows start to shake.

    So very true.

Was talking to my much-younger brother the other day and his response to me speaking about America’s possible incursion was to shrug his shoulders. My bro is highly-educated and doesn’t support MAGA at all, but his lackadaisical response kind of blew me away.

It is true Amaerica may not try to invade us, but it is also equally true they may … and I’d rather be prepared for the worst than be frozen in place by its arrival.

I’m not sure we need to waste a lot of time on the lunatics that make up that 10%. You can’t get 90% approval for fresh baked cookies, or friendly golden retriever puppies. While it would be nice for there to simply be no traitors within our borders, it’s not really a realistic goal.

Instead, let’s celebrate that by and large we’re all on the same page. Elbows up. One way or the other, old age or a bullet, we die Canadians.

I don’t think it’s a cognitive bias preventing them from accurately assessing risk for a lot of these people. Based on some I’ve interacted with, they don’t care about how much pain they experience as long as the other side feels it worse.

Others are just pure contrarians who don’t put any thought into it beyond “If the radical leftist blue hairs don’t want it, it’s probably a good thing.”

I used to respect this guy but a ways back he started giving me the ick. Way worse now… Curtis Stone . I blocked his channel a ways back, but checked to see if current events changed his tune. It didn’t. I am an American and I cannot fathom why anyone would want to join our insanity.

There are always those that assist or even support their own genocide right until the bitter, fatal end. It is a normal human behaviour. As such, the presence of such people in no way implies that their are legitimate reasons for their position.

If fewer than 20% support something, it should be interpreted as essentially zero.

I always found this hard to believe until I heard of people dying of covid who would deny its existence right till the bitter end

Anyone who supports Trump already knows that he’s a rapist, and they are ok with rape. That’s the world we now live in.
