hey 196
one of the side effects of the fediverse is that there are a bunch of similar parallel communities that nevertheless have entirely different moderation teams, for example until recently [email protected] and [email protected] had separate mods entirely.
this is all fine except that some mods kind of do a shit job :( but in the spirit of spreading positivity, i would love to hear the communities that 196 thinks are doing pretty good to great as far as moderation goes, as well as your reasoning where applicable.
here’s my personal choices
- [email protected] obviously, thanks team!
- [email protected] used to be awful but has taken a heartening turn for the better!
- [email protected] obviously it gets political and annoying but somehow these fellas do a pretty decent job of keeping the worst of trolls at bay 🤷♀️ 👏
- [email protected] slightly differant scope than worldnews and world but better moderation, appreciate them
i may add more, may not we’ll see. mostly making this post to see what you think! show your appreciation 💞💞
I don’t really know any, unfortunately. Most of the things that bring me joy on my home page are 196, I think! And I’m not even a blowhigh.
I believe one of my favorite Reddit communities made a clean migration here, or at least the spirit of it did: [email protected]
I don’t know if it has good moderation, but it’s an intersectional feminist community for men and men’s issues.
mine, and it has more that a “sublemmy”
wait i love this lmao. subscribed.
were on fedia.io and kbin.life too and even a telegram for news
no clue how to use those platforms but ill keep this in mind ✋
[email protected] does a really good job of keeping the community active
As a mod at [email protected] , I appreciate the positive call-out!

[email protected] has excellent moderation. I wish it were more active.
I’d like to see some more traffic at [email protected], so I’ll share that! Not enough activity there to speak to the modding, but I guess it has low enough activity for someone to go in and make it their own (provided the admin likes you to mod for them)? Go for it!
[email protected] This one is pretty interesting. Got me looking at AI a little bit differently.
