I am literally going to pretend to sue someone for this. My gosh. There must be justice.

I loved that shit from day 1. The first version anyways. The more ‘soft’ version in 2 and 3 sucked ass.

I had no idea the hate for this song when I first watched it around 2010, maybe saw episodes earlier but not a real watch. It wasn’t my jam but I thought it fit the theme well of humanity taking their first real leap into space exploration. Like it tied our older style with a classic sounding folk/light rock song sort of thing, before original and TNG. I was am into electronic music but know it wasn’t most people’s thing so their theme worked for the ‘first’ theme compared to a more musical score at the time, least in my mind trying to like the tune.

Also I’m pretty sure I preferred the first one over the others but it’s been so long I can’t recall for sure. It does get stuck in your head after watching enough for sure.

I need to get a bottle of the Star Trek Wines Kanar. Not because I care about the wine, but so I can put my own liquor in it. I think Amaro Sfumato Rabarbaro fits the bill perfectly. Dark brown and viscous, with a floral nose, like is mentioned on Memory Beta, and bitter and smoky, making it an acquired taste. A taste I have very much acquired

I never hated the song itself, I just thought it was a cheap/lazy move using a licensed piece of music instead of an original composition, like the series’ that preceeded it. That opinion hasn’t changed, either.

It gets stuck in my head. Wriggling around my brain and corrupting my thoughts. It eats. It devours. It consumes. Less and less of me remains, until there is no thought but to have faith that I can do anything, to get through the fire and the rain, that I can touch the sky and reach any star.

My corruption is complete. Please turn it off.
