… *cringe*
Note:
It’s a joke and at the same time it’s not.
Isn’t it ironic how the most typical casual greeting formula, aiming at establishing a friendly connection to the other, can be like a torture – exactly because no honest answer is expected.
I wish we could normalize saying “Hi! Good to see you!” instead.
“How are you doing?” is so ambiguous it borders on redundant. It’s also just so drawn out, it’s like playing tennis with prepackaged words.
At least with “Hi, good to see you”, you can quickly convey how engaged you are without being rude or weird. “Yeah, you too” would be a polite “not in the mood to talk” reply, while a “Good to see you too!” would be more friendly and sociable.
I’m not even autistic and I hate this linguistic game.
Hello! I’m doing pretty well (good? what is the correct grammar for this? Shit. I’m doing it again…)
/s
"I'm doing good!" – in order to return some og the confusion. 😁
Ok, as a starting point, might I ask you what you think of this?
I hope asking didn't get me banned.
Well it looks like this rather belongs to the DM session you started. But perhaps make a separate post, asking everyone?
No, doesn't really belong in the DM at this stage but it's still interesting to see what people think about it. I always feel that book doesn't get enough attention.
It cracks me up that 20hrs went by, and no one responded 😆 That’s a really good joke
I don’t really understand the question. What specifically are you wondering about?
-
If you’re asking how my mind is doing, I’m not sure. If you’re asking about the trajectory of my life, I’m not sure. If you’re asking me how my body feels, I’m not sure. If you’re asking how my day is going, then ask the day. I guess regardless of the spirit of the question, the answer is that I’m not sure.
-
If you don’t care and are actually trying to spark up conversation, it would be more helpful to introduce a topic so that I could engage in it.
-
I’m triggered lol
-
I’m good. How about you? looks away uncomfortably
Well, it has yet to come alive. No worries.
edit: “alexithymia”btw. i believe that i am actually quite sure about my inner states, just that i don’t want to boil it down to simple verbal language because that doesn’t fit it. I would need to use a different language. Give me the right music and i will dance it, or let me get my drum and i will drum it!
