I can only see two posts on the front page. (Neither of which are mine.)
I’m on sh.itjust.works, but I can’t see more than a few posts as well.
EDIT: Seems to be the language settings of the comm or the instance. If you choose undetermined, you can’t post in this comm. The same problem as with kbin posts/comments.
EDIT2: It’s the per user language setting. I had undetermined selected in my account and once I chose English as well, all of the posts started appearing. It might be that the posts were posted with English set up as the post language, not Undetermined, which would load for everyone, regardless what they selected in the language settings. But, if you post with a selected specific language, posts won’t show for those that don’t have that language selected in their settings.
That seems a fairly flawed design. I think it’s decent to have people flag the languages they’re most likely to post in for the convenience of others. But automatically hiding posts that don’t match your language specification by default is just going to be confusing and counterproductive. I just recently noticed that mine had been set to English and had seen post recommending not to do that etc. But noticed similar as well. Now a lot of my own old posts are not even showing to me. How does this make sense? Is anything undefined should be shown to everyone and have nothing hidden because it isn’t defined.
Lemmy is still in relatively early stages of development right now, so hopefully those kinds of problems will be figured out
Hopefully so. Because this is the sort of thing that will definitely confuse people.
I have no trouble seeing things but I’m on another instance.
There’s also a known wonkiness/bug with all and active sortings. Try sorting by new if you were using either of those two sortings.
