Agents of India and their proxies allegedly meddled in the 2022 election of Pierre Poilievre as Conservative Party Leader as part of a larger effort to cozy up to politicians of all parties, according to a source with top-secret clearance.
Why do we continue to pretend that India is an ally? Nothing against the people that come here from there of course, but we sure as hell have a weirdly comfortable relationship with a country that has no issues in assassinating people on our soil.
Same reason why we do billions of dollars worth of trade with China.
I find it hilariously wild how western governments will criticize foreign countries like China and India yet freely conduct billions of dollars worth of trade with them without batting an eye.
It really just comes down to… how else are western markets supposed to access the fruits of cheap labor in a post colonial world?
India is an ally? Relations between Canada and India have been frosty for years now, far worse than the current US/Canada drama.
India is as much an ally to Canada as China is the US.
America put pressure to go harder against China and ignore the human rights abuses and fascist street politics happening in India.
It was always a terribly policy but if you rightly pointed out that if China was found to have done the things Indian govt did people would have been calling for a war. Would have said they are the biggest threat to our sovereignty etc etc.
Both of them have their respective problem, but it was clear there was fear/ unwillingness to critique India properly for the last few years.
Hopefully this will change because the break with America is happening now. Enough of this cowardice and going along with Washington’s insane policies.

PP is getting support from Modhi and Trump. Lovely!
No wonder he was so comfortable with that leadership “race.” LOL
pp sure is getting a lot of foreign support, probably explains his refusal to get a security clearance. I got a security clearance to do work in police stations and evidence lockups, its very painless
I would hope the clearance for what he needs would be a little more painful… but still not an excuse.
it’s very painless
Sure. If there’s nothing that may come to light that would bar you from qualifying. Which I obviously can’t prove, but still get the niggling suspicion that pp probably has at least one background item that would disqualify him from obtaining security clearance.
I’m confused because I thought everyone that worked in public service had to get a criminal record check. Are they different things or is he somehow exempt from that?
Didn’t we already know that? I swear there was a whole hullaballoo about it months ago.
