I 100% agree. The only people that really understand me are my family. The second closest are online friends.

I find that people are more genuine in online interactions because they’re not trying to play any social games and there is no need to present yourself in any conforming way.

I also struggle to form strong bonds with average people because I’m too impatient to play social courtesy games. I want to talk about things theyre passionate about not what they saw on the dog park last Saturday.

Battery is such a cutesy way of skirting around the fact that my mental health wanes in my 9 to 5 from forcing myself to interact and behave differently. Not anything like a battery to me.

But I wish I was able to tap into the social energy people have so I could make myself come across to them to show that I do appreciate them

  • The only reason is hardware limitation. I imagine it’s more difficult to load at any point in the game in a massive game due to how much is stored in your memory.

Let’s say you’re playing a game and there’s 6 NPCs outside and they’re doing their own thing.

If the game has a traditional save system, when you exit the save location it’s normal for these entities to rest let their position. Maybe at best their properties (maybe they were wet because of rain) are saved.

But it’s much easier to just not save any of this info and reload everything from scratch and only save your progress and location.
