As my sister who is a MT always said: “A massage therapist gives you a massage, a masseuse gives you a happy ending.”

I can’t believe I know this, but RubMaps used to (might still be?) a thing. If you looked at the outside of them on Google Maps you could very quickly start to pick up on the patterns among the listed locations.
I keep hearing people only on Lemmy bring up Gitea but I haven’t really heard of it otherwise. What’s the appeal and what’s keeping it locked away with the Lemmy community?
Are they moving issues or just code storage to GitHub?
Can I discourage rolling your own password manager (like using a text doc or spreadsheet) and instead recommend what you hopefully meant, self-hosting your own password manager?
I believe the Pro (or whatever they call the highest trim nowadays) supports USB4.
I make use of Reolink cameras with Frigate (mix of PoE and WiFi) and haven’t had any issues with the smart home integration. The only issue I’ve had is with some RLC-811s (and a few other outdoor ones) where water gets into the reset cable and the camera essentially starts boot looping. Seal off those cables and you should be good though.
Something something “at will employement”? Gotta love most US states…
The smoking absolutely kills me, as someone with asthma who has gotten very used to the fact that most things in the US are non-smoking now. It felt like there was a cloud of smoke basically everywhere I went in France and, to a lesser extent, England.
German cars can’t be locked with the driver’s door open
This is becoming increasingly common is cars produced around the world. I’m a huge fan of it, personally.
German apartments can’t be unlocked if the door is closed
I have no idea what this means. Wouldn’t the door always be closed if it’s locked?
I appreciate the law in Massachusetts, USA where jaywalking is so common that the fine was reduced to $1 for the first three times in a year and a whopping $2 for each time after that.
You can’t remove the law, but you can make it silly enough that it’s never enforced.
I’ve unfortunately met people before who think those areas are just another parking spot, so honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the real answer.
My bad, I didn’t mean to insinuate that you’d call them a fool. I definitely would though.
Maybe just the recent buyers though.
Yes, 100%. Anyone is a fool to use Tesla “FSD Beta” pretty much anywhere. But Tesla markets it as totally safe to use anywhere and everywhere (but especially highways) so there’s a point where you have to stop calling everyone that owns a Tesla a fool and acknowledge that the common denominator is Tesla and just not the owner’s foolishness.
I thought all FSD updates were beta updates? Did I miss the announcement of FSD going GA and being stable?
If that’s the case, then yeah I probably wouldn’t test run a new update on the highway first. But I also have no idea if this issue happens at lower speeds as well.
Like the island that’s a part of Hawaii? /s
My understanding is that you’re not going to find a self hosted solution that makes use of SMS (not counting email to SMS gateways) because sending SMS programmatically requires a SMS gateway those aren’t cheap (think of Twilio). You can find many options for app-based notifications (push notifications usually) and email-based notifications as a workaround.
It’s even worse when you go to the manufacturer’s website, order it directly there, and then have it delivered using Amazon fulfillment still despite trying to avoid it.
Good point, it doesn’t appear to be. Might be good to drop a note on GitHub (or their contact method of choice) so they can set that flag.
Edit: I just went and sent them a mention on Mastodon. I noticed it’s an admin account so I wonder if Lemmy lets both flags be set at once.
It’s useful to note that there exists Lemmy servers where down votes are not processed. So the high up vote to down vote ratio isn’t necessarily a reflection of people not down voting, it’s potentially a reflection of the servers that allow down votes along with all other servers (generally they all allow up votes).
