I feel like the key to being in hell is to break right away. You’re in there forever, no matter how much of a tolerance you could build up here you’re going to break down eventually. And in the long run it won’t matter if you held out for ten minutes or ten years.

Having watched interviews with him it’s an interesting case study cause you can kind of track how he just fell into it. He didn’t start as a rich kid, he lucked into the money with Bitcoin and started making random high-budget YouTube videos (his videos were always on the slop spectrum but in the beginning they were genuine). Over the years he has just devolved into chasing the views. He thought (and probably still thinks) that he does it for fun and it’s just his nature to follow the views but it’s pretty clear to anyone watching that fame via YouTube has changed him significantly.

Notice the first guy is in a wooden boat and the second guy is in a boat most likely made out of some plastic-based fibers. 🤔

Whether it was or not, the article is talking about two scientists who see emissions similar to the WOW signal all the time just with far less intensity than the signal. They made the connection and extrapolated how it might be possible to see something like the signal.

Yeah, people are either spoiled or deluded with games needing to be 100+ hours, especially cause those hours are often padded with garbage.

Shadows of doubt gives you at least 10-20 hours of hilarious procedural generation that actually hangs together as an immersive sim. You start to see the seams pretty quickly but by the time that happens you’re digging into the actual mechanics. Also the devs take their time on updates but the last update was pretty huge so they obviously have a pretty big scope for the game.

I mean it’s like walking for 10 hours but with less chafing, hell, you can remain with your head above water with very minimal exertion by just flexing enough chest and neck muscles to keep your mouth above water while lying submerged. I wonder if that’s where the 40hr upper limit comes from.

Tom Scott was a good YouTuber because his ego was able to handle him voluntarily stepping down.
