Like Wallace and Gromit but instead of cheese it’s biscuits.

  • I have two phones. A personal one and one provided by my company. I like being able to turn off my work phone when on holiday, etc and keep my personal life separate.

I do know a lot of people who sold their personal phones when given a work phone and use it for both. Saves some money I guess but no thanks.

I also know people who have two phones but install all the work apps on their personal phones to make it easier for them. No thanks!

  • That was a really interesting video and made me look at myself a lot. Recently my doctor put me on medication for anxiety. I never realised how badly it was affecting me, and like this video explains, I was looking for reasons to explain to myself why I was feeling wrong which self perpetuated the feeling. The worse part is while I didn’t understand why, I did recognise that I need to stop focusing on the bad stuff but I couldn’t break out of the cycle.

People do silly things. We have a department at work which pulls data from our ERP system to excel. They’re pulling 10’s of thousands of rows to return only a few bits of detail like product descriptions for a handful of items. I’ve offered to help them but they really don’t want help. They seem to be happy with this monster.

There’s another department which runs reports from our BI system, exports it to Excel, adds some calculations, then builds reports from that. They literally just need to ask the BI analyst to build them a report to their requirements.

I’m convinced people like screwing around in excel because it gives them something creative to do in an otherwise bland job.

  • We think my son might have autism and trying to engage with the school and health services for a bit of support. So far no luck. Anyway, because of this we’re learning a lot and I’m now starting to think perhaps I have a touch of it.

I didn’t know a backpack was a thing. I take mine everywhere. Last year I met a group of friends I haven’t seen in years in a pub and I took my bag. They asked why do I have a bag. “It’s got my stuff in it”. They did enjoy trying my flash lights (I sometimes take two in case one runs out. It never has because they’re regularly charged)
