I can never get myself to do totally evil playthroughs in most games. I feel so bad when I’m forced to choose between two terrible options that I avoid games where I have to do that. I struggle to start the Witcher, FO:NV, or other great games because of those tough choices. I enjoy playing games that railroad you into being good more than games that challenge you.
I over empathize with characters for some reason, struggling to watch them experience well written conflict. I get more stressed out watching new children’s movies or sitcoms than watching a Clockwork Orange. It doesn’t matter if I know characters will be alright because of the genre; I need to know the exact ending to enjoy most media. I prefer to hear spoilers because I experience less stress as a result. I often don’t watch new things without hearing spoilers beforehand.
I don’t do evil playthroughs because my fantasy is being able to always be patient and nice, save everyone, and find peaceful solutions as much as possible.
IRL you run out of resources pretty fast trying that on your own, and bad actors take advantage unless you have a support structure. In games it’s preordained that it can work.
Oh I can relate to that. When WoW first got the death Knights I tried to play them but the opening quests where you raid the village almost made me cry.
Rebuild! You don’t need to feel guilty until you realize that you forgot to assign Meow to anyone and he’s been left sitting with a crowbar and a bunch of science books in some unrenovated warehouse for weeks
Love Rebuild. And don’t feel bad, take care of the catto.
