This occurred to me the other day and I feel like it’s so crazy that it maybe could happen. Is it too late for him to run in the upcoming election?

      No, they must simply be a natural-born citizen. An American born to American parents is American, no matter where the extraction takes place. Dirt need not enter the equation.

        So, a child born on American soild but to non-citizens is not granted citizenship? Or is it just not considered natural-born? Or is it and dirt enters that equation?

        I’m not American so please excuse me asking what possibly every US elementary school kid knows.

          The United States is one of the few countries in the world where people born on its soil to alien parents are automatically granted US citizenship. However, citizens by birth are not necessarily “natural born”, as the phrase has been a subject of judicial debate.
