The other domains are still online, though z-library has yet to respond
Post edited, thank you @mbt2402 for correcting me
Why would you take down a website for a c++ compression library?
Damn can’t believe the guy saving me so much money is able to have some fun with their family. How dare they
Images of a modest middle class vacation
FBI: this should make you feel bad, that modest middle class vacation is at the cost of the publishing company CEO’s second yacht being smaller than he promised his children. It doesn’t even have a helipad!
FBI should care more about Epstein’s friends instead of having fun with digital books
I mean, what would be the point at this point? Majority of the country is apparently okay with Epstein style activities given his best friend who has bragged about having the same tastes got elected
Yeah but Epstein’s friends are rich and have ready access to attorneys.
More evidence that our justice system is more about punishing the poor.
The suppression of the means to educate, as a priority, is a purposeful tactic to subdue dissent.
I hope Z Library, and others like it, live on like the hydra.
Yeah for real, why is Bill Gates still among polite society?
This is how they’re spending it:
- rainbow weather machines
- FEMA trailers
- supporting gator farmers
- latest kohls fashion
the American dream
They’re destroying whatever credibility they might’ve had by acting like trolls. Like at this point they might as well be posting racist wojak memes in these cards.
It really doesn’t help their cause or make people want to believe them, and even to normies it comes off as extremely hard grasping. It makes them look weaker. It only helps the cause for people who already onboard, which is useless because those people are already onboard, it’s preaching to the choir.
It seems weird FBI would post misinformation regarding how “they” are spending the money
I like how one of their points of evidence is a only kinda sort of expensive camper trailer. Yeah, I’m perfectly fine with the people maintaining a public resource like that being able to go on camping trips lmao.
I also like their very picturesque cabin picture with a rainbow haha
Must have been a stolen, copyrighted rainbow.
See, poor student drowning in debt? These people are having a mediocre vacation! Don’t look up how much money the publishing companies make btw
I swear this is an old photo from at least a few months ago. I remember people joking about the caravan and boat being so extravagant
Me too
Oh God they’re removing faces from people?!? 😭
WHY?! They have no mouth but they must scream!
The more they try to stop us, the more we will come back
In my experience it’s very common for Z-Library’s domains to get seized. My password manager has like 10 different domains connected to the same zlibrary account; 9 of which doesnt work anymore.
Best place you can see the currently working domain is wikipedia.
The onion link (http://zlibrary24tuxziyiyfr7zd46ytefdqbqd2axkmxm4o5374ptpc52fad.onion/) has never stopped working for me. I think it should be the most reliable way to connect to it.
The app works too
This makes so little sense to me. One would think that an app would have a wider user base as well as being easier to take down. All they would need to do is run the app and see where it phones home to, then send a C&D to the distribution platform(s).
i remember when soap2day was a thing (it was one of the better web ones without downloading that we could easily use on the PS4 without a USB stick etc) they had soapgate.org which would give a list of the current working domains. different domains would go down but until they shut the entire thing down I never saw soapgate change
I always use the .onion domain that I find at https://lemm.ee/c/[email protected]
You can link a community for all instances by doing [email protected] btw
or by typing
[text](/c/zlibrary@lemmy.ml)
like thisOk thanks
As a wannabe author, I could only be so lucky to get my work “pirated”. Free publicity.
Seriously. I managed a small rock band for a while. We got picked to tour with another band in some clubs in Eastern Europe. This was pre-Spotify, but Facebook strong.
We had no CD sales pre-tour to these places, just some views on youtube. We were relying a lot on the other band.
But the people that came to the shows? They knew the words and sang along and we had a great time.
Someone had our music and shared it before we got there. And we were grateful for those pirates!! And yes, we sold some merch and CDs at the shows.
If not for the pirates it would have been a much different experience with a lot less people showing up.
Our band never “made it” but it was still a successful tour and a helluva lot of fun. In large part because our music was pirated and shared ahead of time.
Is this satire?
no
i remember this from earlier in the year, so petty LOL american corporate action agency seething. the seized domain is z-lib.se, and it probably logs your ip if you visit it btw.
Genuine thanks for actually telling me where not to go
Is the post description bugged out? I see a lot of comments mentioning things that are already mentioned in it.
Here's the post description, in case it is bugging out
The other domains are still online, though z-library has yet to respond
I’ve seen this ‘z-library seized’ image shared around much prior to this, but I couldn’t find the source
It’s unlikely that this was actually done by the FBI
why do you think it wasn’t done by the fbi? fbi is public about their campaign against z-lib devs. and the z-lib devs did acknowledge this siezure in may
https://torrentfreak.com/fbi-carries-out-fresh-round-of-z-library-domain-name-seizures-240530/
Because even the worst of bureaucracy employees isn’t going to put “this is how [russian cybercriminals] are spending [money]” and place some absolutely weird pictures of a small and cheap house next to a pond, a small and cheap trailer being pulled in snow, a relatively nice but middle-class affordable boat in a swamp, and a family of four by a pool.
well the fact is that they did.
https://www.whois.com/whois/z-library.se
seizedservers is apparently a commonly used domain to redirect domain seizures to. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/technology/z-library-ebook-site-domains-seized-by-us-dept-of-justice/.
Uh, dude. No one is saying that the FBI didn’t seize the domain, but go look for yourself whether they have turdy little pictures of how they are spending the money.
the seized domain z-library.se displays those exact photos?
This is none of the domains mentioned in the article, and as far as I know this site was only modified yesterday.
This image has also been floating around for a while, but I don’t know how often the FBI reuses target-specific images.
you can do a whois, which shows that the redirect is to a domain used for domain seizures. you should edit your post, as it is factually incorrect.
https://www.whois.com/whois/zlibrary-bl.se https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/technology/z-library-ebook-site-domains-seized-by-us-dept-of-justice/
Understood, I’ll edit it now.
you’re right, but a quick query turns it up as a seized domain https://torrentfreak.com/z-library-more-domains-seized-than-any-other-pirate-site-in-history-240721/
Shows up on voyager. Some people just read the title/image and scroll down.
