Except for the times they had “fluff” segments of the cops just harassing and making fun of a trans person, arresting a gay person who was the victim of domestic abuse at the hands of his parents, and a few other super shitty police things they show as being “good.”
On a lighter note: my favorite episode of The X-Files is the one that parodies COPS. IIRC, Duchovney wrote and directed that one and it’s hilarious.
