Following up on this comment from the current mod, @[email protected] https://slrpnk.net/comment/9445371
I would much rather someone else takes over moderation, yes. Both because of various federated moderation bugs in Lemmy making it hard to moderate a community that isn’t on your home instance and because I have way to many communities that I moderate already.
If needed, I would be willing to help with moderation, but not be the main moderator of such a new community.
So that means that ideally we should get new moderators for this community, who should then decide among the different options stated in the other [Meta] thread: https://slrpnk.net/post/10808865
Any volunteers?
I would like to be able to help, but I don’t see myself capable of moderating a community in English, that is if whoever accepts the position can count on my help, support and solidarity from now on.
Si tu quieres, puedes ajudarme con [email protected]
Sin problema, tampoco parece que vaya a dar mucho trabajo así si quieres hazme mod y hago lo que pueda
Vale! lo haré mañana
Just as an observation, I’m not sure we’ll get people. Good moderators are hard to find (I’ve been looking for some for [email protected] for a long time ), and this community will probably require more work to moderate as it will have a lot of news and political discussions. After all, there’s a reason poVoq was the only mod here.
I can help. And I’d like the community to go for feddit.org instance since this one is bound to be hacked (no updates) sooner or later.
I have created it: [email protected]
@[email protected] Would you be interested in becoming a co-moderator too?
As long as there are other dedicated mods, sure 😊
I am a bit scared, but I’ll try.
It’s not that bad, but you need to at least skim most of the discussions as reports often fail to work due to federation issues or are only made after the comment section is a troll-party already.
Also be ready for some unpleasant DMs questioning your moderation decisions on really spurious grounds.
I’ll volunteer to help out with moderation. I have some spare bandwidth.
Thank you for volunteering!
