My younger sisters (22and 23) have never had a Facebook account but are into Instagram and Snapchat. To some degree an age difference is at play. I’m 30 and it’s crazy how differently we’re involved with the internet.

I’m always torn on this. I want to tip to help someone earn a living, but if enough of us stopped tipping employees would leave unless they were paid more. It does feel like adding suffering to the wrong people, but if out created change it would be nice eventually
It works if you already have some semblance of wealth or can work remote. Someone looking to retire may find it doesn’t work where they are but they can buy the same house for half the cost in South Dakota and suddenly things pencil out.
And other instances may work as well. If a job is paying $20 an hour in a big city and $17 in a different area but rent is 30 percent cheaper it can be a difference maker, but relocating is expensive.
