Any app that doesn’t require any backend to function.
If you ask for a subscription for an app without the need to support a backend… I won’t subscribe. I’ll find something else.
Mostly anything else is fine.
Though, if it’s something like a Note-Taking app where the cloud infrastructure for backups and sharing would cost pennies and you’re asking more than $1 a month, I’m out. Looking at you, Evernote. $64 a year to replace the built-in Notes app? No thanks.
Fair.
We overestimate what most people do with their computers.
Most people that buy one never touch the re-installation of the OS. I wouldn’t be surprised if I learned 99% of PC users haven’t even done it once.
People buy a PC and use whatever it comes with. They don’t uninstall bloat. They might use a different browser. And then they’ll stick with it until they’re done with it.
It requires knowledge to use different Operating Systems. Most people either don’t have the time or don’t care to learn it. I can’t say I blame them, I never cared to learn about my car. I don’t ever really want to! Yet, I use it every day.
“they” is fine to use for any individual or group as a catch-all.
Minotaur Warlock
Tbh? I dig it.
That’s why I never explicitly said it should have both.
I was really excited about Favorites in the Music app… until I learned it’s just replacing “Loved.”
I thought they’d have a third type of system:
Favorites / Suggest More (Love) / Suggest Less
It’s sort of like that now, but it’s:
Favorites (Loved) / Suggest More (Added to Library) / Suggest Less
Oh well!
Sure, until the differing opinions involve the existence of LGBT+, minorities, etc.
I have zero tolerance and find no good faith in a person that believes human lives are worth being argued.
I greatly hope Apple allows us to set the Action Button for: Single tap Double tap Triple tap Long press
And perhaps even custom combinations of taps/presses to allow for greater use.
Limiting us to ONE use from a long press is confusing to me.
It’s cool that people have created shortcuts that can imitate this, but it’s one of those “should be standard” things.

Honey’s whole scheme is selling your data. It tracks everything. I don’t use it.
I use Baking Soda and Vinegar and SponsorBlock and Wipr.
The first two basically fix video players on every site: basic HTML player instead of the bloatware most employ.
SponsorBlock for YouTube to cut down on sponsored segments that YouTubers may play in the middle of a video.
Wipr for my ad blocker. It’s been incredibly solid since I first bought it. Big fan.
The person that replied to you is probably being scientific-literal and obnoxious. I understood what you meant just fine. :}
What do you mean modern AC can only cool by 20F?
I’m in Florida and it’s routinely 95-98F outside. My AC is set to 65F.
Did you mean 20C? Either way, that’s also false. AC units are limited to their rating and BTU. Many may not cool below 60F, but there’s no delta limit.
One could look at the concept of the fediverse and relate it to the ideals of segregating higher powers (big businesses) and giving power to the working class (pay for labor). IE: the concept of dividing up Lemmy as a service into multiple-owned servers instead of a single monolith like Reddit. This tends to align with the ideology of Leftism (to be clear, the progressive class of beliefs, for anyone non-American) tend to be more inviting and inclusive to people. This makes for a good platform for trans people to feel welcomed.
This is not a factual answer, and I do not believe anyone here holds the authority to state a fact. It is only my personal observation.
Something I want to make an example of with this comment:
The previous person states their frustration of the subreddit. What value does your comment bring to their situation? Does it help address the problem?
When I post about an issue online and someone says “no problem here,” that doesn’t help solve the problem.
Women are not allowed in this world anymore because of their own personal preferences.
