Yeah, proper cohort attribution seems to be a little lacking by this data analyst. I’d say gender bias has already occured before your specific sample point… bro

Do you have Nordstrom Rack near you? They often have new cashmere marked down to 20 or 30 bucks.
I’m not sure we are thinking the same thing when it comes to “AI safety”.
What indications do you see of “too much AI safety?” I am struggling to see any meaningful, legally robust, or otherwise cohesive AI safety whatsoever.
It can still drag way too many people down to its level though…
It ain’t about money. It’s about time. The rich still die…
While I don’t know how well it will work, nor if the implementation is even fully possible, I like the idea of Yep.
Neither is what Apple is doing and I guess thats my point. How much higher tech to people reasonably need or want in their pocket? Is innovation for its own sake really innovation? They are just remarketing existing tech as features without a demand.
I think innovations in phones are going to go the other direction honestly. Bringing back shit like eink displays, batteries that last days, fuck it, am/fm… New consumer tech is outpacing the users needs. I see a touch of old standards making a comeback. Hell how old is USB-C?
This always makes me wonder… the tide has to be one of the biggest sources of free kinetic energy, cycled daily. I can picture a hundred different ways to tap it for free energy. Why aren’t we doing it?
Tipping isn’t bad. Being underpaid is bad. If we as consumers want to add a little more for good service, I don’t see a problem.
Make dollar coins a thing again.
Remove presidents too.
Guns are for weak people. 100% of gun owners I know are massive cowards. Tell your friends. If we can’t get legislation, maybe we can change the culture. SUVs are fine, it’s the massive pickup trucks that are getting out of hand. Give us the Hilux already, and make it electric. Healthcare should be universal and single-payer. End the health insurance industry.
We are trying…
Edit: Please tell me why you disagree, don’t just downvote me. Downvote is not a “disagree” button. I’m just trying to share my thoughts the best I can.
Singing coach would be the best answer. But outside of that I’d say the first step would be to train your ear. Pitch is more important than the quality of your voice. Plenty of singers get by with unconventional voices because they can sing in tune. And even someone with the most beautiful sounding voice will sound terrible if their pitch is bad. Developing a better sense of pitch is possible, even on your own over time. Look up ear training voice exercises.
Edit: spelling
Thanks for all your hard work. I really appreciate the effort put in to give these communities a full and familiar place to land for those of us migrating off of reddit.
I only want to weigh in with the opposite experience, not trying to convince anyone or make a point. But I’ve had an account for over a year, a few subscriptions, just wholesome or comedic stuff, and get the most garbage or vile sewage on my feed. I am reluctant to open a link to TikTok, because I know it will show me something horrible first. Anyone else have this experience?
Some of us witnessed just how amazingly elastic our ecosystems can be just by the improvement in indicators like air quality due to reductions in human activity during covid. Human impact, while catastrophic, can revert amazingly quickly with radical behavioral change. Just something I try to keep in mind. I agree, that is the best path.
Seems like they are spread out across a few instances. @fanaticus.social seems to have the most. I’ve been trying to get some action going in the game day thread on [email protected].
I saw a list of the Lemmy equivalents of a bunch of the major sports subreddits somewhere. I’ll try to find it.
Mainly a lurker. Hoping the regional sports game-day threads take off here cause that was the majority of my posting.
Honest question, is there such a thing as bad engagement? Or is engagement like that saying about bad publicity?
Very refreshing take on it. The cynicism about whether the protests were ‘worth it’ because we didn’t see massive results felt like it missed all the fun of giving the greedy corporation the collective finger.
For real. Are they trying to make me NOT want to be that guy, cause…
