I’m don’t disagree. Good developers use the tools to do better, but its incremental not revolutionary improvements for already competent developers.

I think I could have states my opinion better. I think LLMs total value remains to be seen. They allow totally incompetent developers to occasionally pass as below average developers. Is that good or bad? I don’t know. What an average and excellent developer can do with LLM assistance is less clear. Certainly it can help those developers in some situations.
There are a LOT of superficial devs out there. You dont even have to be interviewing junior devs. Plenty of them out there at medium and senior levels. They existed before LLMs were spitting code like today, and this will undoubtedly lower the bar for bad developers to enter. It remains to be seen if this can help the gold developers in a meaningful way.
Link? I’d like to see. Always amusing to see that kind of thing.
Welcome to the Internet. Pontification is all we’ve got. Now we’ve got LLMs regurgitating the old pontifications to make new ones.
I came in with your same expectations and found the same shit. Just some opinion formed on the basis of “concern”.
Hiding a camera in person would be actively malicious if the other party doesn’t know. Having a zoom recording leaked is less actively.
I generally agree, but with robocopy they went too far with this, because the status code doesn’t work the way you expect, and you’ve got to script around it.
Lionel, Mikes Train House, L.G.B., - wait a minute…
I fail to see the distinction:
story >> book (paper) == own
story >> movie (DVD) != own
That doesn’t add up. I realize this post is more about streaming than physical discs, but the point remains.
It definitely doesn’t look like the same game I grew up watching. That’s for sure.
That’s no worse than you started. The fact remains nobody is going to get 100% coverage of their contact list on the fediverse without Meta, so trading a Facebook account for a threads account is no different, and it ignores the benefits of that time when you maybe able to live without either.
Check out Avalonia. It’s like cross platform WPF. Not winforms, but still pretty good and easy to start with.
I mean, I can fix them, but not because I’m a programmer. Makes it hard for normies to understand the difference.
Is that profit or revenue? I’m curious how much it costs to print vs what you sell for, in terms of materials and everything outside your time to do the cad work.
For windows only folks, mouse without borders is a great option and it’s built into windows power toys, otherwise synergy is a excellent cross platform solution that’s worth the license cost.
I think if you look at your average “package” from GitHub, that is published to npm, nuget, or the associated language rep, by and large they’re not making any money.
Sure big projects are making money and have paid development teams, but that’s not true at the individual library level in many cases.
What features are you missing from Eternity? It seems fairly stable and feature complete in my experience.
Wait, are you seriously overlooking ASP.NET and suggesting c# tes learn typescript and node to build web apps?
I get that it’s a hypothetical, but typescript and node shouldn’t be the first stop on the we need to build a web page train for folks already in the c# wagon.
Why is that? I’ve read them referred to as dark matter developers (forget where I read this, maybe a book many years ago). They’re out there, they make up a majority of the field, yet they leave no trace because they do not blog, post on SO, or back in the day forums either as questioners or answerers.
