You can’t imagine how much I hate this setting. A couple of weeks ago I helped a guy install some specific software on a windows machine provided by the customer. It’s like one exe with a config file. Pretty basic. My instructions were:

    1. Copy the exe to a specific path
    2. Create a new text file in the same path and copy paste this provided text into the file
    3. Rename file to abc.xml

The exe was throwing errors because of the missing config file. Of course the filename was abc.xml.txt 💩

Hello! Here is your random engineer: You have to connect both trap doors to the same side of the turbine. Otherwise your generator has a great chance to get blocked by users.

Otherwise the concept looks good. If we find a way to get the Linux guys out and make them able to walk a slight incline without collapsing this should work.

Das wäre doch mal was feines!

  • It would be great if the EU steps back:

Dear phone manufacturers. It seems to be impossible to build water resistant phones with easily replaceable batteries. So we have an alternative for you: In future you must provide a unconditional, professional battery replacement, free of charge for 10 years for each individual phone which is water resistant. Since the phones are so water resistant you also have to replace all water damaged phones free of charge.

2 hours later Apple announces a keynote for next week. A week later Tim Cook presents us next years iPhone with an easily replaceable battery…

  • Don’t be so pessimistic. Every generation had it’s problems and we are still alive. People tend to think they and their situations are special. That’s not true.

People this days, especially the younger generations, are very pessimistic. They seem to not even try to have a good life since it will end soon it seems. This will cause a lot of brilliant minds to let their potential die slowly while realizing later in life they could have done better.

You have to understand one important thing: While a situation is bad there can still be a positive trend. Less people die of hunger, Corona killed significantly less people than the Spanish flu. Etc.

Even if the climate changes, somehow mankind will survive. AI want kill all jobs since AI doesn’t have hands. There is so much stuff outside that needs human intellect. Don’t let the media and zeitgeist let kill your intellect people. Be optimistic!
