After Windows 11 came out, I said HELL NO! The whole UI and look of everything is just so awful. I feel bad for my fellow lads who are stuck on Windows still. The only people I get annoyed with are the ones who glorify Windows. Look I’m not forcing people to switch their OS, but god please don’t glorify Windows spying features and say ‘I don’t have anything to hide’. Just say fuck it and make the switch, take back control of your life! RISE THE FUCK UP!
The rom for the T1650 is weird, I tried updating mine and got no display, so I’m sticking with my old rom right now. Are you having the same issue? You can build the rom in lbmk or download the roms from one of the Libreboot mirrors.
I am currently adding support for the Dell Optiplex 9020 MT, it supports a i7 4790K and 32GB of DDR3 1.5v RAM (Non-ECC). The i7-4790K is a little bit faster, like 6% overall, but it’s main feature is having AVX2 support. This increases the peformance drastically for machine learning (e.g. LLMs), compiling peformance, and even virtual machines. It’s basically modern-like gaming computer. It’s actually the first Libreboot desktop computer to support AVX2.
Happy to hear I inspired you to build a Libreboot gaming machine! Stay tuned for the next port, you can expect a release by next week!
How is the OpenBSD experience? I have 2x4TB hard drives in my Libreboot server (Dell T1650 motherboard), can I easily setup RAID 1 through the OS?
Proprietary 🤮
“Ubuntu” 🤢
I meant it more as a communication platform, not nescessarily for hosting documentation. Either way, using a forum is still pretty good alternative
There is FOSS alternatives out there like Revolt or just plain old IRC which is good enough imo. The Discord bullshit is so annoying.
Still got to worry about firmware. We don’t own shit.
Fuck spez.
Dude is making fucking $1,080/month off a free software project. I hope he’s satisified with the work he is doing for everyone in the community. Cheers for even better days to come!
I’m playing the game at 1440p, my camera is recording at 4K
Backdoors in the CPU microcode, backdoors in the proprietary firmware of your motherboard / hard drives, backdoor through Intel Management Engine / AMD PSP. They’re all hardware level backdoors that can’t easily be disabled / replaced on newer systems.
There are only a select few of systems out their that can run a fully free BIOS with no IME, but those systems are about 15+ years old. In terms of freedom, we’re fucked. Even if you do switch to GNU/Linux, you’re still not entirely free.

I have not run the whole test yet, I will do that. Thank you for the advice!
Well, this build is specifically for gaming with Libreboot so due to the limitations with the motherboard I’m stuck using the Xeon processor. Its not bad tbh runs everything well.
This is actually a new build I just made with a Libreboot motherboard. I’m trying to turn it into a gaming computer, it ran GTA V at 70-80FPS, all high settings, at 1440p. It was working flawlessly, and for some reason now its not I suppose due to the RAM.
But even with this RAM, in the beginning it was working just fine until yesterday I started noticing more stuttering. Vulkan shaders might be interfering, but I did enable them to process in the background and to save the cache but nope, still stuttering.
I was hoping to do a benchmark video for people tonight but I’ll have to wait until later next week.
Or just use it in a virtual machine
