Ugh. My Game Pass subscription ends soon and I am not going to extend it. It was awesome 2-3 years ago with loads of big titles and many of them each month. Now it’s just 95% shovelware, comparable to the lowest PS+ tier.

For me personally it’s R.I.P. Game Pass 2024. I’m going back to just buying a couple of proper quality games per year.

Anyone with Game Pass can confirm, it’s 95% “indie” now. No problem with that - as a concept - but GP contains so much shovelware it’s hard to find anything interesting anymore.

This is not my type of game but Nintendo is really on a streak with huge releases lately. Zelda, Mario Wonder, Metroid and so on.

Never played any of this crap but after watching the trailer my first complaint would be that the persons making the game have absolutely zero sense of style and all the example clothes look like something found in a backyard container in Uzbekistan in 1985. Maybe that’s exactly what the “japan/manga” fankids like though, it’s just such a depressing and backwards phenomenon.

Not sure if you are joking. Games today are mostly a disaster. Many studios release games who are not even beta worthy and have us fight with broken or missing features and later release huge updates before abandoning the games and turning off their servers. Gaming has never been so frustratingly bad and Xbox Game Pass is one example of the failure.

A few studios are luckily not yet doing this, like Rockstar and Naughty Dog etc.

Do you think 99% of the grannies and non-techies care? I support Signal and use it myself to communicate (with the 2-3 other people that use it…), but it’s not comparable with WhatsApp or Telegram which everyone has. It’s shitty but it’s reality. People even use Facebook Messenger over Signal.

That’s what I thought too, after posting my question. I mean I’m all for open source and privacy and fair business but making up your own news doesn’t help anyone. And anyone using a Google product (if that’s the case here I do not know) really has no right to criticise Apple anymore.

Sure the binary is what I run, but I am not following what your point is. If you are paranoid about binaries from an open source project, just compile it yourself. It’s easy. That’s just not an argument against open source.
