Xbox executive Kareem Choudhry is leaving Microsoft after more than 26 years at the company. Windows Centralreports that Choudhry’s last day is today, and his departure has triggered a shake-up of some teams inside Xbox. Choudhry’s departure comes just six months after a big shake-up of Xbox leadership and amid continued changes to Microsoft’s gaming strategy.

Choudhry had been focusing on Microsoft’s AI plans for Xbox in recent months, which include a new Xbox AI chatbot that The Verge exclusively revealed earlier this week. Choudhry was also key to Xbox’s backward compatibility support and helped bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to life as xCloud in 2019.

Retro gaming brings a feeling of nostalgia for most that are into it. My video game life started off on an Atari 2600, so playing old games from my childhood is fun and a reminder of easier times. That being said NES provides a bunch of pick up and play fun games. Here is a short list of fun games to play.

These should provide a bunch of different play types and genres to figure out what types of games scratch your itch.

Not sure how you feel about emulation, but take a look at FPGA systems like the MiSTer or Analog Pocket. These use hardware/chip simulation to recreate a 1:1 real hardware experience. You can also use original controllers via adapters with 0 lag, so the games feel the same too. With one of these systems you will be able to play all of those systems plus a bunch more. It’s a cool system, highly recommended.

If you care to spend the money they do make optical drive emulators. These will trade an optical drive for an sd card. Kind of like adding an everdrive to a cart systems.

Are you thinking of Super Sprint / Championship Sprint? That game had either 2 or 3 wheels on the cabinet. Every trip to the roller rink included a couple games of Super Sprint for me. Great Game!!!

I love the Saturn controllers by 8-bit do M30 6 buttons on the face plus 2 shoulder buttons. It fits all my retro game needs. Any of the 8 bitdo controllers will work and are high quality.

My wife and I each thought these were cool but refused to buy these for ourselves. Instead, we got them for each other for Christmas/Channukah one year. It is the best “stupid” gift I have ever got. I have a little Aeropress set up in my office and it’s great. Nothing like coming back to your desk to a hot cup of coffee after you have been away for an extended time. I think they were like $100 when we got them.

Save up a sum of money. Open a fidelity investment account. Fidelity does not have a minimum balance account requirement. Learn a bit about no fee index funds. These are low price per share but offer the benefit of investing in the whole stock market. Things like Fidelity ZERO Total Market Index Fund or Fidelity ZERO International Index Fund. These types of funds give you a broad investment profile with low price and reduced risk. Continue to add money to your investment account on a regular schedule. Do NOT take money from the account to buy luxuries. The benefit you have at age 18 of being in the market is time. Any amount of money you have in the market for an extra 10 years will grow leaps and bounds more than you would be able to afford to put in directly. You can also look to set up a Roth IRA for your retirement as well. You can put up to $6,500 per year into a Roth IRA account and invest it. Do this early and often and let the money grow and future you will be living a comfortable life.
