It’s so bad, it feels like using an ipad. Notifications are buggy as hell and you can’t even disable notification center with terminal like you could on x86 macs. I’m keeping an eye on Asahi linux but it seems a little too rough to be daily driveable yet.

Sort of unrelated but the apple support threads are all infuriating because they never answer the question. They embody the “it’s not a bug” motto until it’s clear there is a bug at which point they just say apple must be fixing it soon and to just keep your computer updated.

This is really only applicable to buying new things on ebay. Last gen electronics are the only thing I buy new on ebay but even then good deals are pretty rare. At this point if you want a good deal you need to go back 2 generations usually. I saved around $800 on my macbook pro by buying a 2021 model NIB on ebay a few months ago. Asahi linux only runs on m1 anyway so that was my prefered processor over m2/3 anyway.

At least with apple, the warranty only starts when the product is activated, so as long as the original plastic wrap is still on it you will get the full factory warranty.

I actually looked into this back when it was originally happening and the rules were fairly strict. It specified background color and wording but it didn’t give a language so this guy did about the best you could given the rules.

However it would be a shame if someone printed a poster with UV reactive paint that changed to something else over time while it hangs.

I think at least some of it has to do with plumbing. There are lots of countries where you can’t flush toilet paper because it will clog the pipes. In the US we avoided that problem cleverly by just shitting in holes until like 1950 when the majority of homes got indoor toilets and by that point plumbing tech had improved.

B&H Photo Video is a decent place but stock is always iffy. More of a consumer electronics store than newegg in my experience.

Cuz kids don’t like having their parents asking questions about their life… how is that even surprising to you? It’s ok to ask but if they aren’t forthcoming you can’t just say it’s stupid. That’s how you get a kid to start doing things secretly.

I didn’t mind the fact that it was there, I was always just annoyed at how useless the memory hints were. Like yeah, of course I could spell “neither” if I just remember the e comes before the i… that’s the problem.

I think it’s a trade off because a lot of the people who fall into the less tech savvy catagory don’t understand that SMS is unencrypted. I can at least see merit in the argument that a false sense of security is worse than no security. I wish they made it a setting you could toggle, even if it was off by default.
