Yep I’m all about setting myself up for success. And backing into parking spaces does that. Also it’s drilled into my head from the oilfield that you will always back in because it’s safer.

I wonder if they mean that it expanded by a square inch of area
Oh hi fellow space city weather reader. I thought apple weather would get better after supposedly integrating the Dark Sky features in there, but it seems like there’s still a few kinks to work out.
Dang, that kills my use case since I can only install software on my PC from my org’s internal App Store. Too bad Apple still requires this and it can’t be just the Edge extension.
Will this work on only Mac, or can I install the extension on my work laptop Edge browser too? That would be essential for me to be able to use it cross platform.
My parents don’t care about CarPlay at all. It’s in their GMC truck but they have no interest in using it, and get confused when it pops up. That being said, they also will absolutely not subscribe to whatever service GM tries to launch in its place. I guess just pointing out that there are some people who don’t see the point, but they also wouldn’t see the point of whatever GM launches.
Wireless CarPlay is out there now too. I just had a rental car that had it, and it was very neat! It would connect to my phone while still in my pocket, and if I was going for a short trip there was no reason to even pull my phone out. And then if I was going for a longer trip and wanted to charge my phone I could pull it out and plug into USB, and it didn’t interrupt the CarPlay at all. Very cool.
Right on, thanks for the info! I consider this a moment of great success for young Lemmy- on r/ regardless of the topic there always seemed to be someone with experience who would show up and share some of their knowledge. And this feels like the same thing here in a fiber cable laying thread. Cheers!
Wow ok the fiber line that runs into my house is way more shielded and bulked up than that little blue one, so my estimate was wayyyy off. So yeah hundreds of strands could fit in there. How often do they put a switch in neighborhoods? Maybe less often than I thought!
How many fiber cables do they put in each one of those ducts? There’s 15 ducts and let’s say 5 cables each, 75 fiber lines is a ton of bandwidth!! Lots of room for expansion there.
Yeah, I agree they totally last longer, but I just like new tech and get excited about new releases. The excellent condition used phones have been used as upgrades for my parents or sold on swappa.
I’ve been loving the size of my 11/13/14 Pros the last few years and if USB-C is a reality I’ll definitely be getting a 15 pro. But if the rumors are true about only the 15 pro max having the new periscope camera, I will be tempted to jump up to the larger phone for that.
Good idea with the iPad for review! I couldn’t get the formatting to work on my first post, but I wanted to emphasize that for people who are in the Test Flight group, it’ll be best to keep that version for a few days until the App Store version is updated to catch up. And then beyond that you can either stay Test Flight for beta, or App Store for stable.

Contrast this interaction with the spaz/Christian public dust-ups, and let’s all feel fortunate to be here. Thanks to both of you devs for making cool stuff.
“Seasoning my new iPhone 15 Pro Max CastIron 100 times”
I mean you’re right, but for those of us who are happily within the iOS ecosystem and have no intention of even considering changing, it’s good to get some progress on this front. My alternative isn’t to move to a Samsung, it’s to make do with whatever battery is in the latest iPhone Pro model and hope for bigger gains in future releases.
Release day 14 Pro at 89% here. Oof. I hadn’t looked at that in a long while but had noticed a number of times that my battery was surprisingly low.
Pretty heavy use, no wireless charging usually leave it plugged in over night.
