World’s tiniest Fukuyama Castle model – the size of a strand of hair – created in Japan April 10, 2022 (Mainichi Japan)

FUKUYAMA, Hiroshima – Tiny enough to sit on a strand of hair but with the same elaborate exterior design is a 0.217-millimeter model of Fukuyama Castle, all but invisible to the naked eye, made by a precision metal parts manufacturer in this western Japan city.

(Mainichi/Shinji Kanto) Castem Co. in Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture, created the miniature model on a scale of 1/170,000 of the actual castle tower, which measures 33.5 meters high, using a special 3D printer in cooperation with Kyoto University of Advanced Science in the city of Kyoto.
Yuki Toda, 34-year-old general manager of the company’s new business division, explained, “We infused manufacturing’s playful side into the world’s smallest model of Fukuyama Castle.”
Castem boasts advanced metal casting and fine processing technology, and has used 3D data to reproduce stainless steel models of paper cranes folded by the late Sadako Sasaki, who was exposed to the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. It also made a 1/250-scale Fukuyama Castle key chain.
For about the past two years, the company has been working together with Kyoto University of Advanced Science to develop technology in the fields of 3D scanning and materials, and produce medical supplies.
The miniature Fukuyama Castle model was made to be about the same size as the thickness of a strand of hair using the university’s 3D printer and special resin, and its surface was coated with platinum. When looking at the model under a microscope, it is evident each of the tiles and the stone walls have been precisely crafted.
If the material is processed further, it is apparently possible to reproduce Fukuyama Castle with a height of 0.2 micrometers, which is 1,000 times smaller than the current miniature model. Fukuyama Mayor Naoki Edahiro looked impressed after observing the model under a microscope and said, “It is encouraging to see the display of Fukuyama’s high-level technology. I want to exhibit it at Fukuyama Castle Museum, which will open following renovation 400 years after the castle was built.”

I’ve been liking searxng. It aggregates results from search engines you select and returns the results without being tracked by them.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SearXNG
SearXNG is a free and open-source federated metasearch engine forked from Searx. SearXNG supports over 70 different search engines. Similar to Searx, it does not collect information about users.
3rd result using these settings on searxng.
In fairness he says 90 minutes after waking, not 90 minutes after the walk. If you get home from the walk by 6:30 that’s 30 minutes to make it, or potentially buy it if you have one nearby to get on the way home/quickly drive to.
Now yes that’s already 10am, but considering he mentions 2pm in the right column, you could make the argument the left column is the “until 10am” part, and the right is “after 10am” part, though I am giving large amounts of benefit of the doubt at this point.
Yeah it’s pretty nice, basically every convenience of paid streaming services for free and every movie and TV show in one place.
If you use it I highly recommend the torrentio add on https://torrentio.strem.fun/configure
I stream torrents using stremio.
You also won’t be authorised to play them if your account is banned for any or no reason, or if steam somehow shut down (at least for any you havn’t already downloaded or if you ever uninstall them).
That doesn’t sound much like owning to me. Could you imagine if gamestop banned you from their store and suddenly you couldn’t play any game you bought there? Would any logical person consider that ownership?
What matters is I can put that exe on a harddrive/usb stick, plug it into any PC, and play it. Does that work with epic and steam? If I copy the game folder onto a usb stick and buy a new pc, can I plug it in and play it without ever installing the launchers? Or having to do some other workaround like download software I don’t know if I can trust that I wouldn’t have to do with GOG?
I don’t care about whether it’s technically illegal or not, I only care about how easily I can play the game using nothing but the game, exactly like a cartridge.
From what I can tell it coats the stomach lining and dilutes the substance, causing slower absorption.
That’s why they raise it by 10%, not 5%.
Say sub is currently $100/year, they now have to pay $5, they get $5 less. If they raise by 5% to $105, they have to pay $5.25, they get 25c less than originally. But if they raise to $110, they have to pay $5.50, and suddenly they are getting $4.50 more than before, even though they are paying more taxes. And they can blame it on this so people don’t hate them as much and accept it.
I use PIA, cheap and they’ve been involved in at least 2 court cases where their no logging policies were proven.
That is supposedly the case in Australia as well but I haven’t got a letter from telstra since around 2004 and I have never used a VPN and watch all my shows and movies via torrents so either I’m extremely lucky or they stopped bothering.
Though recently I started paying the $4 / month for Real Debrid for better streaming performance, which is just as good as a VPN for torrent anonymity. I used to be fundamentally against the idea of paying anything to pirate but honestly this is worth it, I’ve even been able to watch a few shows that had 0 seeders because they were previously cached.
Would it still apply if it’s not Google forcing it, but simply giving developers the choice? This doesn’t seem any different to putting code in your game to make sure it was launched from the epic games store for example.
15% failure rate is not low, it’s a dice roll essentially on par with Russian roulette.
Put both of those onto an aussie pizza and you have perfection.
