Hoping with zero evidence that the end of lower decks is just because they’re getting promoted out of the lower decks and the characters will all return in a new show: “The Next Next Generation” (or maybe “Upper Decks”)

Okay, that’s a fair point as to that comment not making it more sexist than racist, but not for it only being racist. I don’t see anything in the story pointing to race over sex.
What in the joke makes him racist but not misogynistic?
There’s nothing in the joke saying she’s either the only black person or the only woman in the bar. In fact you could say that there’s more pointing to him being misogynistic in that he says “this woman” and not “this black person”.
To me it reads as both
Agreed. Hugo weaving is a good actor, but played the part so stoically that in my head I automatically insert “, Mr. Anderson” after everything Elrond says as if he’s agent Smith
I choose to believe all the studies that say coffee is healthy and none that say it is not. I won’t change my coffee drinking habits regardless, so best think positively?
I was young when this episode came out and it absolutely terrified me. I still find it scary to the point where I’ll turn it off sometimes when it comes on. Great ep though, and Janeway is a badass.
In the hands of the prophets is a great episode that is often overlooked. I wish keiko had gotten more opportunities like this to stand up and shine.

Highly recommend lower decks (try getting through the first few eps though, it does take a little to find its legs). I am also not a fan of Discovery and Picard. Strange New Worlds is okay, a few really strong eps (i do adore the design work though, I’m very happy with the original series era being modernized like this)
No way. It’s SG-1, Galaxy Quest, and the 9th Doctor.
Two points each. Should have been 3 on the first one, but I wasn’t confident and both were plot elements in multiple ds9 eps
Same exact thing for me. 3 points and with the second reveal I knew it must be Harry Kim’s rank
A few months ago I bought some old (quite good) speakers. My first step, of course, was to use a calibrated mic to measure them. One measured way better than the other. Took them apart and realized at some point someone had connected wires incorrectly on one of the tweeters causing it to be out of phase. Do you know what this means?
I REVERSED THE POLARITY AND FIXED MY AUDIO PROBLEM. That day I became a Starfleet Engineer.
Fun game, Zero points. If Q had been listed before Evek, i might have had a chance at getting it there, but I didn’t remember all of Evek’s appearances.
TNG aired during my childhood, and I did watch it, but the occasional TOS marathon is really what got me into it.
Sadly, he appears to be canonically dead by the time of lower decks.
I test drove one recently. I have very little need for it; don’t haul much that frequently, but it drove way better than I expected, and I really wanted it for no good reason.
Rewatched it yesterday. The calendar says 9/1 on the day of the riots.
Only the Gorn are truly immune, and this makes me think Godzilla is just the final form of the gorn.
Series pitch: t’lyn (in her absolute unhinged way) figures out how to make the shield polarity orthogonal to previous states, rendering them completely impervious to known powers, who, threatened by this, hatch a plot to infiltrate the federation and steal the technology by becoming member states. The federation’s rootbeer-like insidiousness eventually makes them give up their plot, but they still get the tech anyway because cooperation
Mostly I want to hear starfleet engineers start saying that they’re orthogonalizing the polarity, because I find that I hilariously ridiculous concept.
