안녕하세요!
Not really tbh. The earth is well past the halfway point until we look like Mars: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_the_far_future
We should put some factories there!
I know someone who works in software security at Plaid. I can’t give too many details because there’s only like 20 of them - but no, you REALLY should not trust Plaid. (Allegedly) phones intercepting 2FA in their server rooms, (allegedly) bank connection issues that have led to people getting access to the wrong accounts, (allegedly) using browser bots to handle login on the backend for banks without API access, (allegedly) customer info leaks that weren’t reported… Now that I think if it, I should tell my friend about the whistleblower programs
Hey, another Battle for Middle Earth fan!
I actually keep a Windows dual boot specifically for BFME online play (since BFME only works singleplayer on Linux). It’s been making a comeback recently, there were 51 people online (!!! New record) just this Sunday. We played 3v3s, 4v4s, FFAs, you name it. Was a lot of fun 😄
In any case, check out the 2.22 launcher; even for offline play, it’s got built-in support for a lot of mods and plugins, and runs decently under Linux: https://www.moddb.com/mods/battle-for-middle-earth-patch-222/downloads/patch-222
I’m just surprised this guy’s played games for 64 days straight
Not really the solution you’re going for but maybe? https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/408514/is-there-any-way-to-play-runescape-singleplayer
It misses the point. As an app developer you have KPIs. You want to hit those KPIs. Adding these notifications helps do that. Obviously most developers will do what you’re suggesting, but that doesn’t mean they won’t add notifications
Ex-app developer here. We do it because reminder notifications boost our re-engagement by over 10%.
When an average user downloads an app, there’s like a 70% chance they’ll use it day 1, a 10% chance they’ll use it day 7, and 1% chance they’ll still be using it by day 30. A simple reminder notification after day 3 or 15 can drastically boost those numbers.
Why do we care about the numbers? Because Google and Apple care. They see higher numbers, assume it’s a good app, and make it show up in the search results more frequently. This gives us more downloads.
If you’re putting the time in to craft a quality app, you probably need money, which comes from ads and subscriptions, which is funneled by the number of downloads. If you don’t like that as a user, stick to FDroid.
Jokes aside, does anyone know why dogs don’t want to drop it for you to throw it again? Like, do they not make the connection? Are they still living off the high from their last catch?
Question: are there any countries where this is allowed? Would they have been able to go abroad and do this operation?
I would say play whichever era you played in the past :P. If you played RuneScape classic, OpenRSC (the 2003 remake) is the best, otherwise 2009scape is a good shout. You could also check out 2004scape.org, their beta starts soon
Vidyascape is the best real 07 remake, but is it open source?
Historically, only for-profit ones have been shutdown
I used to be a game dev. Busy so can’t reply atm but Jagex and OSRS make a LOT of money compared to everyone else already. Their subscription stats are insane
Shout out to the open source Runescape remakes
https://rsc.vet/ - 2003 era remake
https://2009scape.org - 2009 era remake
https://darkan.org/ - 2012 era remake
There are other open source remakes (2004, 2006) but they’re not as popular. I’ve actually contributed upstream to all 3 of the above, it’s a very nice community!
Last time I applied, it took like 6 months for my beta app to be accepted. That’s fine but I had ran a marathon like the week before, and did all my marathon training during that time. Was big sad. Anyways best of luck with the next round!
But taking 30 minutes out of your day to relax and unwind? That’s good for you.
That would make the air… less clean now?
Edit: looks like PM2.5 and PM10 levels were 10-100x more around a hundred years ago. Seems like air quality is in fact better now.
