Mereo is a sociologist who is also a nerd. He believes in open-source software.
I transferred to this instance from https://lemmy.world. My previous profile: https://lemmy.world/u/Mereo
It reminds me of Fallout.
It is nice to be a patient gamer. I recently bought Cyberpunk and I’m enjoying it. I will get Dragon Dogma’s 2 when it comes out of beta.
In the early days of YouTube, after I saw a video where they boiled a can of Coke and found 13 spoons of sugar. I stopped drinking that stuff. Aspartame or not, I’d rather drink water.
Yup. It is an official proof that the package wasn’t delivered.
To me, instances are like countries. c/[email protected] is not the same as c/[email protected] because lemmy.ml culture and policies are different from lemmy.world. In this case, go to c/[email protected].
But if you want to be in the PC MASTER RACE club, you need to learn how to configure the BIOS.

It’s a slippery slope. Money talks. They are accountable to their shareholders. So when they saw that people were paying for them, they started to monetise more and more.
Not a good comparison. With Steam, you download the games to your computer. If Valve ever went out of business, they could unDRM the games, or you could crack them.
Either way, you download the games onto your computer. That’s not the case with Funimation.

It is not. It is a demo. The company demonstrates the game to you. You’re free to play it as long as you want so that you can make an informed decision afterwards.
And this is where pirating comes into play. For example, I bought Fifa 23 but because of the bundled anti-cheat giving me a lot of problems, I downloaded the cracked version.
Good! That means less people drinking sugar!
Nvidia and Wayland are a bad combination (Nvidia’s Wayland support is to blame). Try the latest 545 drivers.
It reminds me of when Flash was an exciting technology and websites were made in Flash. Very painful.
Read? Lemmy is Reddit 2.0. Unfortunately, the majority don’t read articles.
That’s a very extreme view, my friend. A lot of Youtubers come up with good products. For example, LevelOneTechs has come up with a pretty good KVM that a lot of mainstream companies haven’t been able to perfect. So I enjoy it when Youtubers advertise their merch.
As I understand it, Haiku is not based on BeOS, but is an open source re-implementation of BeOS, just as Linux is not based on Unix, but Unix-like: https://www.osnews.com/story/24945/a-programmers-introduction-to-the-haiku-os/
