It’s not only about climate change though and it’s not only about you being fine. People thought the same way you do and got Trump elected and now abortion is getting banned all over the USA, but hey, at least some progressives can say they didn’t vote for Hillary out of principle?
Don’t have much integrity if you make decisions that will mean the people you want to protect will suffer even more just because you want to be able to say you sticked to your guns.

You do you, I’m a white man with a good job that owns a house and I’m still trying to improve things for those who aren’t as privileged instead of thinking about myself and voting for lower taxes and less services for those in needs, maybe you should do the same.
Pretty much anything would be better than what we have, in the meantime we need to vote strategically or we end up with the Conservatives which just makes things even worse.
What I see is 5k NDP and Greens voters who would rather see a conservative MP having the seat than make sure it’s someone fairly progressive in place.
Oh and enough people that voted for fake independents to prove a point to make a party that has always been against electoral reform take the seat.

So? Even going one day to the office is enough to make some people feel stressed out and depressed. I’m not even talking about people who need specific accommodations that they have at home but aren’t provided to them at the office.
Not if you’re depressed by the fact that you’re losing 2h a day going to the office, wasting 30$ in parking fees and know that your pet is back home stressed out from being left alone for 10h.

Hopefully Lil’ PP shows up for the debates during the campaign so he actually has to say what the Conservatives plan to do instead of just saying what their end goal is. It’s easy as heck to say “We’ll increase the number of house being built!” without saying how you plan to do it.

Recycling uses even more energy than producing from scratch and also has a huge environmental impact from the (non renewable) products used in the process and never ends with a product that’s as high quality as what it began as.
Remember the three Rs, reduce, reuse, recycle, in that order as the environmental benefits go down when going from one to the other.
It’s a limited resource as well because the infrastructure is built using limited resources, the energy that gets transformed into electricity might be limitless, but you can’t transform it once you can’t built the infrastructure anymore.
We just act like it’s not the case at the moment the same way we acted like petrol would never run out 100 years ago.

A waste is a waste is a waste, all energy production comes with an environmental cost. While we’re wasting green energy our neighbors use dirty energy, if we stopped wasting 25 TWh we could sell the surplus to our neighbors so they reduce their carbon footprint OR we simply could have went without wasting earth’s resources to create the infrastructure necessary to generate that 25 TWh.
Because creating more infrastructure to generate more energy is a waste of resources and still pollutes a whole lot even if it’s “green energy”?
What do you think happens with the ecosystem behind a dam? See these lakes? Look at the scale at the bottom of the map to give you an idea how big they are. Well, they’re not lakes, they’re reservoirs, land that was flooded because a couple of rivers now have seven dams on them.
Same for solar panels and wind turbines, the resources necessary to build them didn’t come from nowhere, it comes from huge mines that destroy the land they’re on.
We’re wasting the equivalent of Slovakia’s annual electricity usage and instead of pushing people to start being responsible our government will just force the State corporation to increase its capacity.
What’s funny is that if we were talking about the quantity of petrol that we use no one would question the fact that it’s stupid to not push people to stop wasting it…
I think you underestimate the quantity of people that don’t feel good about having to show up to work in person or take part in meetings or have to deal with in person social interactions.
Heck, in the grand scheme of things it’s more unusual to have to interact with tens of people you didn’t choose to interact with because your employer said so.
