I think those “both sides” shows have to go out of their way to find things to make fun of in certain circumstances. So they feel forced to charicature or misrepresent those groups in order to make any proper humor. On the audience side people who buck the status quo are held under the same scrutiny as people who are rapidly climbing the discrimination pipeline.

People want their answers to be simple. In this case, if you can say there’s a good side and a bad side in a conflict, you can pretend that verbally supporting the good side no matter what is good, moral praxis.

What roller coaster ride.

First three: “Is this gonna be funny?”

Fourth: “Dacoity? What even is this? I can’t even tell from the picture!”

Next three: “Wat.”

Next three: “One of these things is not like the oth…”

Finishing off: “Wat.”

The only person I heard “omnisexual” used for was Captain Jack Harkness. So now I have questions. (Funny: Tell me about the aliens you’ve met and flirted with. Serious: What does that word mean to you?)
