Not seeing this behaviour on my Mini5…
This is awesome and terrible at the same time. Now we’re back to endless notifications that we can’t disable. I’m getting dozens of notifications a day from the shortcuts app for the newly allowed background automations.
Showed up for me within 10mins of the update dropping but my brother’s still aren’t showing anything 9hrs later.
I bought one of these a couple years ago and it still lasts 12+ hours streaming internet radio from my iPad at work. Sounds great for background music in a shop. I love how sturdy it feels and the handle is great. I call it “Nintendo plastic” cuz it feels indestructible like the OG Nintendo controllers.

Just to clarify… I work 12hr shifts and it still has about 40% battery left at the end of the day.
Canada here. Professional communication at work is done via email. Sending coworkers nasty memes throughout the day is done by iMessage/FB Messenger. Outside of work it’s all iMessage (or SMS with the two people I know who don’t have iOS devices). I don’t know a single person that has ever used WhatsApp.
“To me, anything more than 4 hours is a 1 day drive.”
Wow, where do you live that 4hrs is such a big deal? To be fair, I used to work with a guy that had to pack a lunch and plan his trip days in advance just to “go into town” which was maybe a 45min (75km) trip each way on a 4 lane divided freeway.
Apple Music because it’s fully functional/supported across all Apple devices. I have iPhones, iPads, Watches, MacBook, HomePods & Apple TVs. No need to screw around with trying to airplay Spotify to a HomePod when it’s just available natively with Apple Music. Apple Music can be integrated into “scenes” in the Home app. Apple Music can stream over cellular on an Apple Watch. I pay for Apple One Premier and share with 5 family members, FWIW.
Check out an app called Sleep Cycle. It has Hue integration built right in. No need for IFTTT.
The native iOS clock app has a feature where you can set a timer. At the end of the timer you can choose “stop playing” instead of an alarm tone.
iOS has built in “background sounds” that you can customize in settings>accessibility>audio&visual and then trigger via control centre. Works while playing other media at the same time.
You can setup a “personal automation” in the shortcuts app to start your Spotify playlist when you stop an alarm. Can’t think of any way to slowly increase the volume though.
As someone else mentioned, you can use an NFC tag instead of a QR code.
My biggest gripe is that no matter how many times I tell Siri that I hate country music (and I hate it with a passion that burns hotter than the sun) she never learns. Every time I open the app there’s a suggestion for country top hits or whatever. I’ll listen to just about anything else but I HATE HATE HATE country music.
86% is a very suspicious number if you ask me. My launch day 12 Pro Max has been at 86% health for at least 6-8 months. My launch day Series 4 Apple Watch was at 86% health when I upgraded to the Ultra on launch day… if I had a tinfoil hat I’d probably want to know more about the meaning of 86%.
I use iCloud mail because everything I own is Apple. You just can’t beat how it syncs between my phone, Watch, iPad & MacBook. FWIW, the native mail app is the only one that can compose a new email from scratch on an Apple Watch. I’m all in with Apple services.
I have it set to low at the moment. There are several curtains that move around a tiny bit when the A/C comes on. I haven’t run the empty room calibration yet since the update completed yesterday. I’m going to see if it learns in the background for a day or two before I try that. Let the update “settle in” if you know what I mean.
While I do notice a difference since the update, I’m still having a bit of ghosting. It doesn’t handle dogs as well as I’d hoped it would. He’s a big dog (100+Lbs) so it should be able to track him easily enough. I just checked and my living room FP2 thinks the dog is between the sofa and the coffee table. He’s definitely not there. He got off the sofa and left the room. Yes, he’s several inches taller than the coffee table so he should have been tracked without an issue.
Mlem and Memmy aren’t “Hacked”. They’re in beta testing right now in the official Apple TestFlight program.
It’s not free but it’s a damn good app and will do what you want and so much more. The part I like the most is that it doesn’t just show signal strength but it also shows noise and SNR. Super helpful.
