I want to play that so bad right now. The cat like movement with wall-climb, plus the alien vision is easily one of my top 5 unique gaming experiences.

During what I still consider the golden age of gaming, which is 1997-2004, most single player games were aiming for 30-35 hours. That has been my sweet spot ever since but it doesn’t mean a game can’t be satisfying with less than that.
I personally don’t find anything shorter than 10 hours enough of an experience. 25-30 sounds very reasonable.
Or conversely, a Christian apologist coming to an atheist community and saying “if god isn’t real why do good things” as if declaring you are a poorly educated sociopath is a good way to challenge people’s well formed ideas.
I’ve spent quite a bit of time trying to explain to some people why “woke leftists” are so quick to shut them up that they feel like they aren’t given a right to speak their minds. “Woke” ideas are generally more developed and complex than “common sense” ideas, which requires some thought being put into them while they evolve from basic to their current level, so when you challenge a person’s developed idea with a superficial, usually knee jerk level question or critique, you’re most likely engaging in a line of thinking they were done with quite early in their evolution of the idea you’re trying to challenge.
YSK it’s a lot. Alot is a fictional character created to illustrate this point.
Even orange Cheetos can be charged with criminal acts sometimes!
I said global. This is a human phenomenon, not specific to US politics.
Think of it like a “greed is the root of all evil” kinda statement.
Centrists can go suck a fat one. The primary reason we’re in this fascistic mess globally is the centrists’ aversion to being inconvenienced for the rights of their fellow people and for the future of the planet.
That’s what creates dictatorships, that’s what starts world wars, in summary, that’s what enables fascists.
Is ‘got root?’ still a thing?
Right? It’s just that good!
I somehow skipped over Hollow Knight until now. I’m playing that this week, and maybe forever.
The game is dope.
<insert yo mama joke here>
The extreme profit oriented business culture of the US combined with the human nature of bandwagons make these sort of disgusting practices possible.
Corporations are justified, by default, in anything they can do to increase profit, and will do so until there’s enough public backlash to negate the amount of profit that practice makes.
The public backlash is tied to the social momentum the idea has. Because profitability is the default idea to be promoted, you can’t say something like “don’t do this obviously profitable thing because it’s bad for people” unless there’s enough people around you who’ll get on the bandwagon. If suddenly some influential person or a critical number of schmucks say the opposite, then everyone is defending the corporation’s, not only the right, but the duty to be profitable.
It’s an unpleasant way to live, really, but people are creatures of habit and won’t easily go against the culture they grow up in.
I’d say it’s exactly as productive as saying “It’s no big deal if Meta joins the fediverse, It’ll be fiiiiiine”.
We should watch everything very carefully.
Read this. You’ll understand the issue a little better.
The problem here isn’t talking to Meta or Meta making a federated platform.
Nobody can prevent Meta from doing that anyway.
The problem is the need to push against the insistence of Meta to keep these meetings off the record. It’s against the entire philosophy of something like not only fediverse but FOSS in general.
If Meta wants good faith, they have to show it first.
Notice that in the email, Kev gives his guidance as to the matter. Do whatever the fuck you want as long as you put people first and make a product for the purpose of serving them.
This should be the attitude everyone should have first.
We will accept you as long as you’re bringing value to us, not the other way round, got that Meta?
As long as any dev is taking this approach, Meta included, I’m supporting them. If someone is secretive about their intentions about a public service which is not a for profit endeavor inherently, I’ll have a hard pass too.
I think it’s whispering “kill me” over and over, in a barely audible rasp.
That’s why I always end my emails with “regards”.
They want security for them and against everyone else.
It doesn’t look like the rule is from the event organizers. Most likely local government who want’s the money from the event while keeping the turnover high so that people will come, spend their money, and fuck off as soon as possible.
