I’ve thought this for a long time, I thought the movies were bad, like actually bad, and the first one, despite being the most boring, was actually probably the best one. This year I watched the extended version of the first movie and it was the first time I enjoyed it, but the others felt like large set piece battles and some simple, high fantasy plot as glue.

XBOX has been going in the unfortunate direction of not being offline friendly. Smart delivery games don’t have Series X version on disk, and a handful of AAA titles, like the newest Star Wars and Hogwarts Legacy are not playable without the game downloaded as a patch.

PS5 is a little better, and almost all Switch games are playable offline. No online is needed to set up Switch.

A truly lost generation

Honestly exactly this, if a business is impossible to exist without exploitation then it straight up shouldn’t exist, and if that means our economy can’t exist, it needs to be rethought so goods and services exist to be goods and services, and not a money making scam.

I had this same question recently. The last Ridge Racer I played was awful, absolutely awful. It was a Vita Game and it shipped with barely any content, it was bizarre.

There was a period of time the game consoles launching with a Ridge Racer was actually gaming tradition, it was even a superstition that if you didn’t launch with one, the console would fail.

The PSP, Xbox 360, PS3, Vita, and PS2 all launched with one. You can check the dates to confirm.

Ridge Racer is still one of my favorite games, and I loved Horizon Chase Turbo so much I recently picked up the physical Vita release.

I guess mine is unusual then. I still get very regular security updates, and battery life though noticeably shorter, well, it’s still okay.

Phones shouldn’t be disposable either, I’m coming up on five years on mine.
