Former employees of Twitter Africa who were laid off as part of a global cost-cutting measure after Elon Musk’s acquisition have not received any severance pay more than seven months since leaving the company, several sources told CNN.

    Twitter HR: Twitter Africa

    Elon: What is that?

Twitter HR: You know, squirrely looking branch of Twitter headquartered in the continent where you were born, mumbles a lot.

    Elon: Oh, yeah.

Twitter HR: Yeah, we can’t actually find a record of them being a current branch of Twitter here. We looked into it more deeply and we found that apparently what happened is that Twitter Africa was laid off five months ago and no one ever told them, but through some kind of glitch in the payroll department, they still get paychecks. So we just went ahead and fixed the glitch.

Elon: Great. So um, Twitter Africa has been let go?

Twitter HR: Well just a second there, sir. We uh, we fixed the glitch. So they won’t be receiving paychecks anymore, so it will just work itself out naturally. We always like to avoid confrontation, whenever possible. Problem solved from your end.
