Is this article paid for by blizzard or something? The only progression that actually mattered were transmog pieces and mounts, both of which is already synced across your characters in the game. It doesnt matter if you can share netherwing reputation between your goblin and your human, and it certainly isnt grounds for resubbing.

This update makes a big change in the transmog system: all drops found will now be added to an account’s collection, not just the ones equippable by the current character. A use case for the reputation and achievement changes is that they will save hours on obtaining the Legion druid forms (although they’ve said old reps aren’t coming right away).

We don’t have a lot of specific details yet, but a lot of it appears to be quality-of-life changes. There will be an account-wide reagent bank for professions; just that alone is a massive change. Unified flight paths is a QoL change that will also save people thousands of gold, designating “favorite” characters gets around realm swapping, etc.

I have multiple friends that are over the moon about this announcement. People love their alts.

I was so close to resubbing the other week, but then I remembered the reason I quit hasn’t changed, I want an mmo that doesn’t fundamentally change every major patch or expansion, I want my progress from a year ago to matter.

If I decide to take a break for a few months I want to resume with what I was doing, not basically have to restart an entire new chain of quests/dungeons/raids because the latest patch has invalidated all previous content and no one is running it anymore.

May I recommend Guild Wars 2 or Elder Scrolls Online. Neither have really increased the numbers so gear from years ago are still up to date. May not be meta but still up to date. GW2 for example has the Berserker stat combination and it has been the go-to for direct damage builds since launch. 10+ year old gear still does its job!

I played ESO for awhile, it’s really good, but I just miss the feel of WoW 😭

I’m planning on playing Season of Discovery, hoping they won’t fall back into the same pattern of progression. Well hoping but not holding my breath, I don’t think I have any faith in blizzard anymore, I’m just going to try enjoy it while it lasts

I just resubbed…while I’m enjoying it, there’s too many damn ways to upgrade the 12 prices of gear that are copy/pasted over mythic, normal and heroic. I detest the gear and profession systems. None of it feels rewarding.

Yeah the gear upgrade system was even more convoluted before they reduced some confusion. I just wish we could do things without just filling our bags.

I find there’s too much bag space. I only fill it because I’m running old raids for transmog

    lol, nope.

only real mmo is guild wars 2 in my opinion. At least there you play with a lot of people and achieve something together.
