You're not doing anything wrong, you're just awake to the reality of what the game is; a load of fetch quests and loading screens. The graphics are bland, the animations are horrible (for example, when my companion is opening her heart in a meaningful ceremony, sobbing and weeping, while the character model stares blankly), PC optimisation is awful. Nearly every quest I did, including main story quests, had glaring bugs and often required using console command cheats to complete.
That's without even mentioning how it took me a week of fucking around and performing various 'optimisation fixes' just to get it to run at all. I purposely did not allow myself to feel any hype or excitement for this game so I'm not disappointed. Just becoming a little numb with the realisation this is what gaming in 2023 is. Broken promises and paying to be a bugtester.
