Parents, public officials and climate advocates all say the mayor and his team were ill-prepared for the effects of a storm that was on the radar days before.
You’re right, I tend to lurk and up vote when I feel it’s appropriate. I’ll try to do better at making my voice heard if you want to have more contributions and build an actual community.
I actually did notice that you posted a comment in another thread here and it was relevant and on topic. It was a nice comment and I hope to see more of that going forward and less of this type of comment thread, please.
But based on the discussion under the article about sex ed, it’s mostly just more of the same discussion I would find anywhere else on beehaw
I don't have a problem with that. Beehaw was selected as a migration point for our subreddit because of its ethos and the fact that its rules would attract a larger than average leftist population. I would expect the type of viewpoints that you would typically find in a socialist community to be fairly prevalent on such a site. Making the beehive too focused would make it annoying to find content, so I don't mind having a wider net. Another thing to keep in mind is that a lot of the people subscribed here may not necessarily be subscribed to a lot of other Beehaw communities, as we are on a federated platform, so those types of comments may not be as common for them as it is for us.
