It’s PvEvP, but the vP is certainly their priority. And it attracted such toxic behavior, that I rage uninstalled and didn’t look back.
Ditto. I was really into the game for a while, enjoyed playing it with my oldest kid when it first came out. Spent a lot of hours in it, and it started to become so toxic I, too, rage uninstalled and haven’t looked back. Sad.
Not at all. The game caters so hard to PvE players. They got hoards of new content all the time. PvP content has been very, very scarce. And with the upcoming PvE only game mode… that should be proof enough how Rare is doing everything they can to keep PvE people happy. And I don't say that derisively. It's good, those people should be happy. But claiming the game is built mostly for PvPers is absolutely not a good take on the game.
They made a baby pin mode pretty much. If you arent going to let them access everything why make a non pvp mode? They’ll be forced there anyway to unlock customization options.
It’s likely the gambit is trying to make players “graduate” from PvE to PvP with some incentives. Or maybe just trying to “protect” the PvP player base from emptying.
In any case I had given up on SoT a long time ago after acknowledging that it was in fact designed as a PvP game, and as such not for me. I’ll be sure to try out this new mode to finally dig into the PvE content (Tall Tales and such).
I guess I can understand that. I managed the Curse of Gold without any other pirates getting my booty. It felt like the intended experience to me is what I’m trying to say. Only reason I don’t play it more is because my friends don’t.
Yeah, I can’t understand why they would lock out so much. It has to be so they can force you into PvP at some point to get griefed aha.
For me part of the gameplay is getting wrekt by other pirates. It gives the whole “Dirty pirates!” experience.
