Maybe it’s the accent or something, but I feel like it would be hard for a lot of us to not have an irritated or obnoxious tone when we’re asking. Maybe something about spending life in a society that seems to revel in hierarchical relations, etc, idk.

I mean, if you’re rude about it, then yeah, it’s rude. Don’t be snapping your fingers at the wait staff like they’re your dog.
I mean just putting up your hand and waving so they see you.
