Hello, I’m looking at getting an additional printer that’s larger format, but faster. I’ve run across the Sovol SV07 Plus which appears to be new. I’m not familiar with the brand and as such was curios if anyone has had experience with them.
What might go wrong with them? (those dual X-axis bars look suspect due to wear)
How reliable are they?
Is there a better option?
I heard good about sovol. I never owned one, but Im not a fan of wheels. Personally Id probably go for SV06 because it has proper smooth rods. It is smaller build volume, but thats good for rigidty.
What you mean about dual X axis bars? X axis on SV07 looks like alu extrusion, simmilar to ender 3.
Indeed, I do need the larger build space for the designs I need to print though, and the 340mm of the 06 is just a touch too small. Regarding the x axis bars, I see that now, I must have stumbled across a different picture yesterday that I can’t find now, because you’re right, I see it has an aluminum bar.
Thanks for the feedback
I would personally recommend the SV06 Plus over the sv07. V-rollers suck, and the 07 has proprietary nozzles.
SV06 Plus, SV07, and SV07 Plus all use the same nozzles. However, I think standard volcano nozzles would also work – I just haven’t bothered to try since I bought a five-pack of the proprietary nozzles off AliExpress and they work perfectly fine.
They generally review well with the YouTube channels I normally see, but they’re still relatively unproven as a company. I haven’t seen any follow up reviews from anyone who has logged significant time on one, but I also haven’t looked for any to be fair.
I recommend an SV06 to someone recently based on their interest level in trying out 3D printing and the feature set for the price. I have almost ordered one several times just to see for myself how they print, but I don’t have room for another printer right now.
Thanks, yeah that’s where I’m at. I need one, but I need one that’s just a little bigger. And their print speed claims seem too high for a printer that isn’t core xy. Hard to argue with the price though. It probably is too good to be true.
