For Series X sure. Given it performance issues on PS5 getting it to run on the Series S might have been pretty challenging.
And they’re not allowed to release it unless on the X if didn’t run on the S. See: Baulder’s Gate 3
While it’s a little more complicated than just compiling the code for multiple platforms, I do agree that the effort would have been worth it
