In what could possibly be the worst way to start October for emulation enthusiasts, as of just a few minutes ago the Ryujinx repository appears to be down, with the usual "404" message being given when trying to enter any of their related GitHub pages. Not even the main Ryujinx developer account...
They all must go. You wouldn’t even believe the loss of revenue Nintendo suffers from the mere existence of SNES emulators. Money is being stolen right out of their pockets. Experts say they might never financially recover. [1]
I’m in no way condoning Nintendo’s behaviour, but the idea that they don’t make any money from their back catlog is rather misleading given that they have re-released a large number of their older titles to either buy or rent on every console since the Wii, along with releasing mini versions of their older consoles with the titles pre-loaded. It’s not like they locked those games away never to be seen again.
How long till they go after bsnes, project64, or dolphin?
