I disabled it on my phones. I’ve found it to be completely without value.

Modern problems require modern solutions. Identify as female.
Unfortunately all of them break greasemonkey scripts that help with blocking instances, which would keep me from using lemmy at all.
The third of the vid I could see at any one time was very nifty.
On a somewhat related note, it seems Lemmy doesn’t know how to fit a tall video in a browser screen.
It looks like they were going to give two mints but thought better of the added expenditure.
I won’t sit through a non-organic product placement. If I’m watching a guy weld up a body panel and he tells me how great a welder is, it doesn’t bother me. If I’m watching and he starts telling me about his VPN or a phone game, that shit’s getting skipped.
I wouldn’t equate a relationship to happiness. If you want one, work towards it, if you don’t, enjoy your kitties.
You just need something to cheer you up. You should look into booking an excursion to see the Titanic.
What are you gonna tell me next, that 4chan isn’t the best place to go for relationship advice?
I wonder if the abandonment occurred around the time that image uploads were disabled, old images wiped and instance was often down. That’s about the time I realized it was basically impossible to moderate and contribute to a community I created on the instance. I now handle mod duties from another instance, one that is usually accessible and allows image uploads.
I understand the intention but it’s not necessarily a platform thing. Lemmy has the same type of people, just in smaller concentrations due to it being less used.
As an example, I was called a fucking moron, a nazi and told “Fuck you” over a simple discussion over graffiti by a real gem on Lemmy. Until his participation, nobody was hostile or angry and throughout equating me with a group of people that perpetuated the holocaust because I disagreed with his stance on something so innocuous, the group mods seem to be chill with it and apparently enough people also felt my stance put me in Nazi territory because he got some upvotes.
My point only being, there are terrible people on any platform that are incapable of having a discussion without becoming the lowest common denominator and the platforms (Lemmy included) generally won’t feel the need to take action. It’s just part of the charm of the internet. We could just as easily create a /c/ for Lemmy stuff that shouldn’t be ok but is.
I’m old enough now that I won’t be around for too futuristic of times and I find it a peaceful thought that I’ll be getting off the ferris wheel before too much longer, regardless of what’s happening. To just stop existing while the world melts down seems like I’ll be getting the better end of the deal.
Wouldn’t this be applicable to any EV and not just a particular brand that it’s popular to throw into titles for maximum views right now?
I understand your point but if you end up on their forum through searches, it’s pretty clear that the majority of participants are the loud ones, making it irrelevant how many quiet ones aren’t participating. You’re just reading a topic between someone needing help and a group of people trolling them because they can.
Their wiki is amazing but if I had to be a part of the Arch community to use the distro, I would give it a hard pass. They’re toxic AF.
Neither impacts me in any appreciable manner so I don’t think much about it.
I think it will be very easy to find a host that federated from them, making it easy to mitigate the damage.
