My favorite is still the “I can’t swallow this” pill meme

One of the things it asks permission for when hooking up Bluetooth etc is “call history”, “contacts” or “text messages”
I’d assume the system needs those to read it messages or call/redial. It wouldn’t need OCR to do other things with that data
I can’t recall if I limited to Google’s IP’s or not actually. Just that I wanted to prevent their devices from ignoring the DHCP provided hosts
I setup a NAT rule that redirects anything going to the Google DNS IP’s send sends it to my own DNS server.
LoL. Yeah I’ve got a ton and I’ve never actually launched a single one

Funny, I was very much in camp NVidia until the RX480, which ran just fine. So did my Vega56, and my 6900 as well as numerous APU’s (one was a bit annoying for overscan on the attached TV). No driver installs, just what came with the OS.
I’ve also got a tablet with an Intel Iris chipset that works fine with the in-kernel driver, and a laptop with an Nvidia chip that most of the time worked but periodically after a kernel update fails to output video requiring me to manually piss around with it and figure out why the stub didn’t build properly.
Maybe you should stop being an ass and consider that when the product/brand has worked for MANY people, maybe the issue is you
Sounds like they probably last used AMD devices shortly after the ATI acquisition, and yeah for awhile the drivers were absolutely shyte (as they were with ATI).
The second possibility it’s - as you mentioned -, running bleeding-edge (i.e. trying to run a video device just released). I got a 6900XT early when they came out and drivers were a bit finicky for maybe the first 1-2mo. I think I had to manually download the firmware files to get it running. However, I’ve had the same issues - or worse - with other vendors in that regard.
Apart from that, then anything in the last half decade shouldn’t require any driver installs and minimum to no tinkering. It’s all
-force -recursive but I like the way you think
We kinda do though, we just don't often see them as having magnets but most electric motors work on principles of magnetism.
Look for one used. They tend to pop up fairly regularly around here
Meh. If they’ve still got some free ones to give out I’ll take it.
But in all seriousness, the Quest 2 is pretty good hardware, especially for the price. The problem is that Meta tried to build an ecosystem around monetization and then bring people in, rather than building something that appeals to most people and still allows them to profit. Kinda the opposite of the Facebook model really, which became a defacto online community and kinda kept the monetization a little quieter or behind the scenes for a long time
I’ve had windows do this to me randomly before, especially if it’s an interface that comes up a bit late. Be careful that it doesn’t change back on you
Yeah, I get that Bedrock is for consoles, but as far as far as “performance” that’s mostly a front-end consideration.
I just wish that there was a level of compatibility where one could still self-host and allow the console etc players to join
Thank you for this! Last FOSS engine I used was OGRE but it was fairly inconsistent across hardware and PC only at the time.
How would they even track that it was “only the initial install”, and what’s the metric for that? If i need to reinstall my OS due to a crash, is that a second install for the game? How about if I replace a piece of hardware that fails, is it considered a new system with a new install?
The whole idea that they can claim additional fees for an “install” is ridiculous.
That’s a great explanation of the terms. Thanks for that.
Given this, can you think of a word that would describe those who are hostile to the concept of a deity? Antitheist, perhaps?
Yeah, I don’t find any religion I’ve ever run across appealing, but I have no beef with those who do good under the umbrella of their religion and don’t try to beat on others with it.
And? You could take the same data and say- “religious persons are less likely to speak out againstmessaging that potentially promotes harm” (likely also dependent on the religious affiliation of the messenger)
The preceding message that this makes atheists the more “intolerant” group is a pretty massive reach, consider that the messaging they may be against could in itself be one of intolerance as per my example.
Somebody should redo this but with Hanks’ actual arm and then a skinny geek-arm :-)
