Yeah don’t bother doing that. All that will accomplish is them gathering even more information on you, they rarely/never actually unlock your account & let you use it again. You’ve been permanently blacklisted on their service, just move on. And honestly you don’t need Paypal anyway.

Similar stupid thing happened to me too I think about 10-15 years ago, I was using virtual credit card numbers that my credit card company was generating for me & Paypal thought that was suspicious enough to close my account & permanently blacklist me LOL.

Fun fact: I did learn over the years that I can temporarily create new Paypal account(s) as long as I don’t use the same mailing/billing addresses or credit cards/bank accounts. But then it’s just a waiting game, they usually figure it out eventually and close the Paypal account yet again.

Agreed, where I was growing up in the U.S. we had a bunch of regional parts manufacturers and Boeing contracts were always prized My dad was a union guy working at one of those factories for a while before it got bought out by a larger multinational corp. AFAIK they ended up shifting a lot of that manufacturing out of the U.S. into Mexico while downsizing the U.S. operations. That’s kind of how it goes in that industry :/

Speaking of bicycles, as a teenager I was riding my bike through the neighborhood & then started looking at all the pretty clouds up in the sky that day. Then as I lowered my line of sight back to the road I saw the parked car I was riding directly into and slammed right into it. Not sure if anyone witnessed the event but it must have looked cartoonish, or at least something straight out of Jackass.

Luckily got out of that with just a few scrapes and bruises, and a lesson to always watch the road.

Yup, Swiss Army Man was pretty unhinged in the best way possible LOL. The fact that Radcliffe was in it, playing a flatulent dead guy no less, made me realize he’s game to play just about any role that gets him out of the Harry Potter typecast.

That aside not quite sure what position this community takes on AI generated posts. Personally I’m here for the normal memes so I’d probably unsub if it was flooded with AI posts, but just a random post once in a while isn’t a big deal. For what it’s worth there are definitely communities around that cater to AI image posts, you could try one of those instead.

Eh it’s not terrible but I usually only buy those burgers when they’re on sale. But I get it, sometimes you want to splurge a bit.

Hot honey is pretty good if you’re into the whole sweet/spicy combo. In NYC there are now pizzerias serving pizza with hot honey… it sounds a bit odd but surprisingly quite good, definitely worth a try.

Not sure if that’s current information, with shrinkflation here in the U.S. tacos have definitely gotten smaller.

That’s just lemmy.world servers having their usual issues loading. Though it is kind of amusing, a lemmy.world user going to lemm.ee to view a lemmy.world post, federation is funny that way :P

Even the German specific Lemmy instances like https://feddit.de do not block the piracy discussion communities.

The piracy blocking stuff seems like something lemmy.world admins decided to do based on a troll from another instance demanding it.

True, would have expected something in [email protected] but there’s been nothing announced there.

Not only that, it was a brand new account on a totally different Lemmy instance that demanded lemmy.world admins remove piracy related communities.

Honestly it seems like lemmy.world admins were trolled by some random throwaway account and took the bait.

EDIT: The post in question in case others haven’t seen it https://lemmy.world/post/3175920, a new account from lemm.ee makes their first & only post in lemmy.world demanding that they defederate & remove anything piracy related.

I still use it mainly to keep track of local events e.g. bands I follow that go on tour & play a show near me or local venues announcing new shows. Or local city events, the local government/business districts still post things. And the kind of pointless meme/shitposts though a lot of that happens on Lemmy itself nowadays. Rarely ever post anything myself, maybe once every 1-2 years haha. But I can tell some friends still lurk FB since I’ll still end up with a few likes on there.

Could probably do the same with Insta just never got around to actually creating an account there, though now there’s even less point with Meta owning that too.
