Great watch, thank you
Condolences
And girls
Been using Phonetrack for years and never had that problem… Better see if you cab find answers on the github page yes.
I have a weekly crontab that does…
nextcloud.export -abc
(everything except the data)
I’m not fully happy with this yet though.
nextcloud.export -abc
command makes a full export of the config, database and apps. So in contrast to backintime, which rebuilds each snapshot only in terms of the files that changed since the previous snapshot, I have a full-blown new backup of config, database and apps every week.I almost don’t dare to say this, but I’ve been running the snap for more than a year and have no complaints.
Thanks, very useful.
Tags on Mastodon cause a post to appear on Lemmy? That sounds great, but I can’t find any documentation or anything about that. Do you have a link? Does it really work?
Last time I checked it, it was said to be very buggy. How is it doing now?
Ok, I’ll join you and decide it doesn’t matter.
You’re right.
I guess a valid question is: so what if its not real. Who cares? We all have many identities, and the internet is a place where we can anonymously let them all out.
I guess my answer would be that I would find it a bit sad. And a bit scary.
I know its problematic. If he’s real, I hope he never reads this, and that I’m not making him or other people (too) uncomfortable.
To answer your question: I guess he sometimes sounds a bit like the “cool, young, (black) streetwise teenager” that progressive eager-to-be-inclusive white people of Mastodon (mostly in their 40s or higher) would like to have among them. Someone to show their kids: “look there are cool people in the Fediverse who talk like you!”. And at the same time, I guess his posts sometimes sound a bit like how such people would pretend to be a cool young black streetwise teenager, but then with their own hobbies/interests: like writing a sci-fi book and resisting corporate social media: https://mstdn.social/@Jaden2/110691658378461126
Disclaimer 1: I realize this latter point is very much built on stereotypes. No community owns such hobbies/interests.
Disclaimer 2: I’m all up for for a diverse Fe-diverse, btw. I guess I’m sharing my suspicion especially because I care about that. But maybe it backfires and actually causes more harm. If so, apologies.
Right? I feel very uneasy, both about my suspicion that it is not real, and about these (mostly white elderly) people who totally blindly assume it is (and want it to be?) real.
