I am all of the issues to some degree and AI outputs to me* just seem like dairy-free maple-coconut water cheese. So personally I’ll just stick with nothing (substantial) until the format/workflow that I’m looking for (hopefully) becomes viable for me.

Luckily writing a book or painting hyper-realism are not the only type of creativity.

(also funnily enough, AI currently is just a different set of skills/knowledge especially for the better results or wrangling custom inputs/training/adjustments etc)

*= Particularly what I can run locally, w/a 1050Ti. But also just really most examples of AI (aside from maybe the stuff that is either extremely overproduced/hand-picked or potentially faked)

IMO I don’t ever see them allowing you to stop being a consumer especially not in such a way that makes them look bad. Best can be done is a cop shooting you when you have a mental health crisis. I also could see it being a genuine population crisis if it weren’t even more strict/bureaucracy-hell than MAiD.

Then of course, there will always be more people pushing back against programs like this than there ever will be for actually improving living conditions. People just don’t want to see or hear any reference to death, continued suffering is a lot more indirect and nebulous and thus ignorable.

If you’re a woman of the woods who will feed my brain to a bear, that’d put me at 80% on-board. As always, travel would be the issue.

Though if I was awake for the eating part, I’d definitely make the joke “Is this a Tally Hall reference?” even though I made it now.

I just checked, apparently we have a ~16 gallon can (15 7/8ths*) and use 33gal bags. It doesn’t seem that much bigger (bc volume) but an overfilled bag will still have room in it when removed (it’s useful for last-minute additions on garbage day).

I don’t know if you need to go this far, but maybe it is why they still fit the can properly with the not-expected-fit orientation like I described to prevent overfilling. 30gal might work, I guess it seems there isn’t much choice here though (otherwise I’d say try 5-10gal/~20% higher rather than double).

In my house we have slightly oversized trashbags, have the bag oriented the other way (so when you pull the bag out it does not get stuck*), make sure the drawstring is over the lip, and this depends on the design of your trash-can but just see the picture. Image link for non-Kbin.

*= this is specific to a larger bag in a tapered container. If the orientation matches closely, lifting causes it to expand at the bottom when you lift so you’re only lifting the bag at first (also this allows it to get stuck when it’s overfilled). Rotated the other way it cannot expand fully until it is out of the container.

But for me it falls down when it comes to needing other people and/or the specific engine-level stuff that I want to get started. I was hoping to start out simple with Raylib bindings, but even that I can’t get vertex colors on imported models to work and I tinkered w/my own 2D polygon format but it was too much work for me to finalize.

My part of the fediverse doesn’t seem to work well for asking niche questions at least, I don’t see much talk on Nim and it doesn’t help that it’s hard to find when people don’t say nim-lang. Also there are 2 replies to you that aren’t federated to where I can see them (and my art threads–lowpoly+vertex colors, for instance plant–aren’t federated to your instance).

My point is, going by the language in what you linked, the manufacturer you went with sells neither electronic devices nor devices that facilitate the use of any liquids/oils. So it does seem like their dumb policy/cautiousness not them being forced, though I am not a lawyer. Even being strict, if there was a device they sold that fell under the law I think it’d be the torches, as you said if someone has a lighter and material+paper or anything else that’s all that’s needed for smoking.

I was pointing out another manufacturer (quite popular/known and they only do electronic stuff, but AFAIK nothing for liquid/oils) and they have not bothered with this policy at all. They do allow the customer to request a signature check, but that’s all I see.

I saw that after posting. I’m not sure if the shipping law depends on the product but I got an Extreme Q from Arizer years ago and just checked: there is no mention of a required signature (though being a desktop unit and twice the price, it is a different product).

So maybe you could’ve just bought from somewhere else, assuming this is the seller being overly cautious and not a wide-sweeping law.

I mean if the temperature is set low enough (also convection) it should prevent combustion(/harmful byproducts) for most materials. Like under 200C especially.

Although I’m not sure vaporizing tobacco intended for smoking would taste all that great and smokers generally don’t seem to care anyway. Sounds gross to me, then again so does nicotine in general.

I could see it in the specific case of a cheap (steam) vape pen purchased without debit/bank card off of a general store site. They check the mail and pocket it, get vape juice from somebody. Charge+fill and it’s ready in a pocket or backpack etc. Similar for concentrates, portable dry vaporizers (or something like dynavap) maybe a bit less.

A $100+ desktop dry vaporizer purchased from a dedicated website seems like it’d be harder to hide unless parents are really inattentive. Miss the credit/debit record, miss the delivery at the door, then them carrying it in (+branded boxes), a dedicated spot in their room where it’s plugged in, and an almost ritual to properly heat up the glass/material that might give it away (glass clinking, balloon bag filling, fan on/off etc).

It was a streaming site that pulled from a large amount of other sources automatically.

Funnily enough it didn’t have any discovery features whatsoever (no front page, popular, latest etc), it was just a search bar that took you right into the video so you needed an idea what it is you wanted to see. And I don’t think it was nearly as popular as other sites (like you probably weren’t finding it from search results, as I don’t think it even had the info that’d be grabbed, and probably didn’t even have SEO or anything like that)

I’m thirsty for tritium water. I’m sure it’s not a health thing, but it probably tastes better (more quenching).

And I want them to pay me a dollar in store credit to drink it. I want them to study me for the effects after years (and many many gallons) of having done this, and then I want to get a medal from some nuclear safety commissioner in Japan or something and look stupid when they show a still of my face on the Japanese news programs.

Is that too much to ask? But fine, I’ll just drink my well water that probably just has gasoline in it or something like a normal PFA-blooded American. No I know what you’re thinking, it’s not the same.

EDIT: Personal stuff aside, you might have better luck in a programming community, particularly in a programming-centric instance (though IME federation w/Kbin may be an issue), and probably even better with an example of an article.

Then again, it might be an uphill battle when it comes to actually convincing people to use your place over others.

I don’t like most programming languages, and I want probably too much. Problem with me or the timeline or something.

I do like one language and it’s a bit niche.
Even still I don’t really use it. The last code I did (months ago, in September), load format example.

Also recently made a few 3D models with only vertex colors (no textures) such as plant and that didn’t work exactly as hoped with Raylib (bindings-specific? maybe not?) either. Guess old tech isn’t as supported as I thought it would be.

Also lots of people seem to have an oddly trusting/nonchalant attitude with this, it reminds me of crocodile vs log (especially when it comes to all of the destroyed fan projects, although in this case it’d make more sense if the one eaten said it was a log and the one on the shore was saying crocodile the whole time)

Because companies aren’t cool about stuff like this (even companies you think are cool are not always cool).

I wouldn’t doubt the library used to make these games catching a DMCA (even if there was no legal standing for it).

I also doubt a company would even bother talking about licensing cartridges for platforms so old, though even if they did I don’t think pricing would even be viable for most games/developers.

Side-note: I can also see newly-made games as an extremely clear-cut non-piracy use for emulation which sounds like something companies would foam at the mouth to prevent.

I recently started using a piece of paper taped to a TV-dinner-table, does that count? It is a nice piece of paper though (slightly larger than standard notebook paper, it’s art paper I think… something I found randomly while re-arranging things).

At one point I was using an infrared mouse which worked somewhat better on rough surfaces, so that’s why I ditched the mousepad.

For me it’s more of a personality disorder* than a type, but still the answer is yes.

Though also kind of reinforced by my environment, lacking money/transportation/activities and even when I started riding on the trail (mostly to get in shape, some shopping, never really talked w/anyone) the section near me was closed in both directions for maintenance and still closed 6 months+ later.
