I think I somewhat recall during the peak Wii U disaster era, during shareholder meetings Nintendo would call the games for the system “Software”. So, that’d definitely backfire on them I’m sure

Not sure if this will help, but find my device on F-Droid is awesome. You can use generic SMS and send “fmd locate” or you can use third party apps such as signal. This makes it so it’ll only trigger whenever you receive that text message rather it running 24/7
It allows you to setup a trusted set of contacts who can then send you a text message “fmd locate”, and it’ll reply with an openstreetmaps link showing where you are. It’s not real time tho
And you can disable it simply by turning off your location
Calling unions “legacy institutions” is a dangerous take
There’s no emulation. Worst case scenario, the game is using Microsoft’s proprietary DirectX graphics API, so we translate those calls to Vulkan or OpenGL with DXVK. That’s simply out of our control since we cannot see or modify the code, but everything else is running on Linux.
Intel actually uses DXVK on Windows for better compatibility and performance for their Arc GPU’s, so I fail to really understand your point.
what?
No, if it’s working for you, why bother? Unless you’re the adventurous distro hopper, stick to what’s working for you. I’d only take the time to switch my home to bazzite if Nobara started causing problems.
Gaming.
if you game on Linux you wanna go with bazzite, games “just work” on there without any tweaking or fixing or patching. And in the rare case you do need to patch a game like gmod, they have a built in script for it like ujust fix-gmod
was just curious if like other video game series the story isn’t in sync with the time they were released if that makes sense
he’ll be ready for the next pandemic
still waiting on when they add EAC to Rocket League randomly without proton support
purism is literally a scam company and shouldn’t be promoted
blah! Android forks!
postmarket os is where it’s at!
or Ubuntu Touch if you’re… that type of person.
sadge.
Sorry I dont really understand your point, it could be my bad English.
I’m gonna explain my point further; You can make it look like you’re using Chrome when you’re not, and if everyone just makes it look like they’re using Chrome, then developers will only support Chrome and Google can and will pull off whatever shit they want to like Web DRM, just under a different name which they’ve done in the past.
So the minority using Firefox won’t have proper support and will see more pop ups like these from more websites. The only difference being whatever feature the website needs actually won’t be supported on Firefox because developers only see that everyone is using “Chrome”.
The problem I have with this though is if enough people on Firefox spoof their user agent to Chrome, it’s gonna look like less and less people are using Firefox and Chrome will eventually have a monopoly.
man I love those old Eee PC’s! my dad gave me his old Eee 900 one when I was like 14 and I put Lubuntu on it and it was such a blast having this tiny little laptop I could take anywhere with a snes controller and play snes games on it without it taking any room, it came with a really cool Asus case made for it too. Sadly its just been sitting on my shelf collecting some dust not really sure what to do with it.

we anticipate that the kernel, d-i and images teams will cease to support i386 in the near future.
I don’t think it’s fair to jump on Microsoft for this one. Windows 10 has been out for almost 10 years. Apple gives less support for systems than 10 years, they are closer to 8, which is still a while.
it is absolutely fair to blame Microsoft, because they promised their customers, device manufacturers, and even businesses that Windows 10 was going to be their last OS, and flipped that switch out of nowhere when they realized they could be making more money.
Windows 12 supposedly going to be subscription based I feel like is a great example.
amazingly well said, thank you
