Not a fan. I totally understand the need for climate protests, we’re way too slow. And I also het that you’re not gonna get headlines with a small protest somewhere. But why not disrupt things that are actually polluting, instead of throwing soup or paint at works of art. You’ll also make enemies by blocking a major road or something, but at least it makes some sense.
Yeah it’s pretty bad. People harassing actors and other people involved is disgusting. I’m also not the biggest fan of some of the new content, but sometimes it seems like a significant portion the fanbase just wants to hate on everything.
As someone who went on a run before breakfast this morning: I feel like the penguin on the right most of the time. I’m barely keeping up with my chores and social life, I reduced my working hours to 36 per week because 40 was too much. Being able to go on a run is one of the few things I am sort of keeping up with.
I might misunderstand what you mean with “implementing” an LLM, but unless you have a good understanding of deep learning and math I wouldn’t recommend to implement one from scratch. There’s a lot of complex math involved in these kind of topics. If you mean implementing an application around an existing LLM, for example writing a chat website that interfaces with ChatGPT or a local LLM, then it’s doable (depending on you current skills).
Sounds cool. The types like Haskell’s data types or Rust’s enums compared with proper pattern matching are pretty much a requirement for a good language imo. And the process/message passing is interesting.
I do, but I’ve gotten better at it. More often than not I just struggle to get started. So just forcing myself to get started results in actually doing what I wanted to do. Sometimes I’m just exhausted, and I accept that I’m just gonna “waste” the evening with video games or something. Rather have some enjoyment than nothing.
That being said, I’m still learning to be better. I’m still too judgemental and unrealistic to myself

Hmmm, then we have different experiences I guess. A lot of people that I know (friends, family, etc) who used to regularly eat sweets all quit almost 100%. More than fat or processed foods I always hear people talking about reducing sugar/carbs. But that’s probably just anecdotal. Still it’s surprising to me that they need to produce more, not less, given that people seem to be watching what they eat way more than 10 years ago.
Damn. I would’ve expected candy demand to be on a downhill trend, as people seem more and more focused on eating more healthy. I probably live in a bit of a bubble then…
My first experience with the Sims was jumping behind a random computer at some kind of event that was running the Sims 1. Most of the family had just died because the previous person behind the PC had let the house burn down. Needless to say, I was a bit confused. I’ve played the Sims quite a bit after that, and I honestly like messing around with it.
I don’t think I’ve ever played a game without cheating a lot of money. I don’t like that the Sims that I made have to go off to work or school, so usually I just build a big fence around the property to keep them all there. From there on it used to devolve into chaos when I was younger. Building huge mazes to access basic necessities, launching fireworks indoors, etc. Nowadays im a bit more behaved though.
Imo the Sims 4 is the best nowadays. The older ones are showing their age. That being said, the Sims 4 is definitely in need of some competition. It’s inexcusably buggy sometimes, and I personally think there’s a lot more that can be done with a game like this. Hopefully the upcoming competitors can spark some fire into this genre.
I got randomly recommend “Kena: Bridge of Spirits” recently by Steam and decided to go for it. I just finished the story and it was definitely a good recommendation. Hard enough to make me work for it, which I always like. It is kinda short though, finished it in like 12 hours. It’s a bit janky at times with the camera and jumping, but overall a great experience.

What’s wrong? I find this a reasonable result. Most people looking for megabyte to bytes are actually looking for mebibytes, since the mega- prefix is literally just times a million but a lot of programs actually list mebibytes as “megabytes”.
So they’re just gonna cry that the EU is the cause of all of our problems. It’s Wilders, he always needs someone else to blame. I’m afraid that he’ll try to convince a substantial part of Dutch society that “we need to take back control” from Brussels just like they did in the UK. A lot of people don’t like nuance and complexity, they just want a silver bullet and people like the PVV and BBB promise them that. Let’s pray that NSC and the VVD (lol) have some integrity.
Microsoft does a lot of bad things, but I got to give it to them here. Their push for accessibility in gaming is definitely a good thing. They’ve been pushing multiple modular controllers in order to allow people with disabilities to play games in a comfortable way. Having the support of a major player in the gaming market like Microsoft will definitely help with support for these products.
Hmmm, if this were in proportion to body volume then it may lead to an infinite cycle of the ice cream getting larger -> the body getting larger -> the icecream getting larger -> etc. Depending on the frequency of course.
Hmmm yeah, now that you mention it I do remember a few occasions of launching soy milk throughout the kitchen. Still I prefer it over the second one though. After it’s been opened once, it’s much less in the way.
Many of the new bottle caps I encounter will actively push back into the closed position, meaning I have to keep them out of the way when pouring if I don’t want to pour over the cap. Since I tend to encounter them on drink cartons rather than bottles, because I don’t drink soda etc, it becomes even more annoying. Bottles you can turn whichever way, but drink cartons need to be kept at a certain angle for optimal pouring. Quite often the cap is in the way and there isn’t really a nice place to put it.
This is even more frustrating because I never lost these caps anyway, I always threw them away with the packaging. I understand that it probably helps in the bigger picture, but for me personally it solves nothing and is incredibly annoying.
